It's all so fascinating. The classic era that most people know him from was such a short part of his life, and watching the downward spiral into Oedipus Complex. I look back on the older sagas the way I look at true crime/serial killer documentaries. It's also a reminder that no matter how much of a failure you think you are, at least you're not Chris Chan.

I think when looking back on some of Chris' past actions, you can definitely notice some warning signs: the article about that kid getting arrested for fucking his mom, Chris' very obvious preference for Barb during the Christmas videos, Chris saying parents should fuck their kids to "teach" them about sex, etc... at the time came across to me as your stereotypical autism of not understanding social norms.

I think seeing the complete and utter collapse of Chris' ability to properly function culminating in the boyfriend free Barb saga has really made me come to regard pre-troon Chris and post-troon Chris as really two separate entities. I don't know if I'd go so far to say that him trooning out caused this. Probably more accurate to say that both the Barb rape and the trooning are symptoms of his deeper spiral into sexual depravity and transgression, but I do think the troon saga was really the big turning point and it's hard to regard Chris and Christine as the same creature really

bob enabled chris to be a socially inept manchild but wouldnt have allowed him to descend into delusions of godhood, psychosis and schizophrenia. if bob was still around the worst chris would have done was continue to be a menace to every security guard and retail worker in virginia. bob eventually "accepted" chris being a woman but this was more likely due to the fact that bob knew he wouldnt be alive much longer and probably didnt want his retarded son to live the rest of his life thinking that his daddy died hated him. in chris's perfect world bob lives to be 150 years old and keeps chris sheltered from reality until chris dies in his mid 70s.

barb wasnt too keen on chris trooning out either but at that point she was in her mid 70s, her relatives hate her, her mental and physical state was declining and she had her own paranoia that a tardraging transvestite chris was going to harm her. she likely also had unfounded fears that chris would abandon her so she came to realization that as long as chris was a warm body with two hands and two legs she could continue to use him as a house servant.
