How fucked am I if I go like 50 hours without sleeping?

I felt so bad i wanted to die i remember the night of the 2020 election i stayed up the whole day and i felt like a zombie it was so bad but worth it lmao

I've done similar things albeit unintentionally due to my fucked up nocturnal ass sleep schedule once or twice a few years back, but I never hallucinated. I was actually kinda more awake than usual for the first time in fucking forever once the second day hit, it was kinda freaky honestly.
Of course when I finally went to bed i woke up the next night/day/whenever the fuck it was the tired fucking caught up to me.

50 hours? Man, meth heads will go a good week without sleep.

As non-meth heads, once you get up to 72 hours you're going to feel very shitty and you'll start experiencing a lot of auditory hallucinations, like if you shower you're going to basically have to ignore anything you think you hear because you'll constantly think you hear people moving around in the house.

By 96 you'll basically be entirely mentally inoperable.

It won't kill you, but going without sleep is very, very hard on your body and you should avoid making a habit of it.

I did 5 days once, and I don't know if I felt anything at all after the third day. Apart from mild paranoia from all the shadow people.

Seeing shit that isn't real

Like seeing Null in the corner of your room eating pizza while he maintains awkward eye contact with you the entire time
I swear to god I will hunt you down wherever you live with your sheltered British insurgents and beat you for bringing up the pizza thing. When was the last time he even brought that up? It was probably a good 6 months ago, at least.

I've done over 72 hours and this didn't happen but I felt REALLY shit after i finally went to sleep and woke up so i wouldn't recommend it.
You may have the schizo juice in you.

Yes you are without a doubt putting damage on your body (both mentally and physically) by not getting enough sleep. And worse yet if you don't get enough sleep you're bound to make poor choices as a reaction to it. Many people are fat and or abuse drugs because they don't get enough regular sleep.

Take all possible distractions away from your bed, especially phones, laptops, or tvs. I personally find the best way to put yourself to sleep is by reading books that while they may hold value can simply be boring. Poetry is a fantastic sleep aid for me, thank you Robert Frost. Historical biographies are also great aids.

I second this. I've been so sleep deprived that I literally fell asleep while standing while working dead end graveyard shifts.

Never have I felt hallucinations beyond for a split second thinking someone was in my bar when it was actually just me seeing my own reflection. And I don’t consider that a hallucination, just being so tired that you drift off and forget everything around you.

Fun fact: unlike the rest of our bodies, our brains don't have room for lymph nodes to filter toxins out so they just accumulate while we're awake. Part of the function of sleep is to allow those toxins to filter into the bloodstream and be mopped up.

The longer you're awake the more crap your body's going to have to deal with once you sleep. I've been woken up by my body flipping out in that scenario and it's terrifying. It took me a full five minutes to reacquire an internal monologue one time - until things clicked back in I was hardly better than a scared dumb animal.

Get your sleep, kids.

Shit that's crazy lmao
never happened to me though funny enough. At worst I just feel really fucking groggy for a bit.

It will be unpleasant but it’s doable. If you sit in one place long enough without talking or actively doing anything you may nod out. Including red lights on the way home. Stay safe OP.

Stop being a bitch and suck it up. Healthcare already does longer shifts and nurses legally cannot go home if they aren't relieved by a replacement like medieval guards. If a woman can do it, so can you.

Does nobody else start shivering around hour 30? My brother and I both get cold or start shivering intermittently normally between 24 and 30 hours in. I thought this was normal until no one mentioned it as a side effect.
I have the opposite. After 24 hours pyrexia kicks in and it does not subside until I sleep over 8 hours.
