Your response is all you can really control. It would be a good idea to do maintenance on your personal relationships, it is hard to tell who is going to stick by you through a cancellation, and you will likely need people. Human beings are social creatures, it is always hard to have a large group of people saying negative things about you. Hobbies and good friends are needed. It is also hard to shut the fuck up and not argue with the lunatics or issue statements, but refrain from doing so for at least a week. The way trader joe's handled their attempted cancellation is a wonderful template to follow. Internet people got mad that they had names like trader jose on mexican food or trader ming on egg rolls etc. TJ's waited for the angriest people to move on to another target, and issued a statement that didn't apologize for anything that happened. They changed nothing about their product line and no one gave a shit.

It kind of sounds like a shit-test where they're fishing for weakness and if they don't get something they can work with fairly quickly they move on to more attractive prospects (read: companies/people that have been known to respond in ways that fuck them over)

LinkedIn is fucking worthless. It would only have any value as a networking tool and if you go in with no network to speak of you'll get fuckall out of it... so if you've already got good networking why do you fucking need LinkedIn? It's shit. Their e-seminars and stuff are shit. It's Facebook with a different skin. Facebook is just Boomer Internet at this point, a place to post funny cat pictures and gossip like hens. Twitter is theoretically a tool for advertising, except it's apparently so shit at that it can't fucking break even on advertising fees it charges. Nobody with two braincells to rub together pays attention to those promoted tweets and some people find ways to block them entirely. Twitter's a black hole of vapidity and people posting moronic hot takes for clout.
 
Ain't going to read through the entire thread, so apologies if what I sprout is already been said.

But simply, wall up. If you have accounts set to public, set to private and ghost the fuckers that are attacking you, more air and time spent on trying to douse or get your side of the story across, is more time they have to twist and curve whatever petty nonsense they're trying to spin you with. Better to drop dead weight before it pulls you down further with it. Have single strike rule, if you catch even the smallest whiff of someone treating you like shit, using you for their own means, again, ghost, drop and move on, they aren't worth time nor energy. Beyond that, there's not much else you can do.

If it's a case of someone manipulating pictures, screenshots and the likes, say someone trying to take you down with a false rape allegation, then find the section of the chat and dump it entirely to the public, show the accuser of being a using little cunt, this and instances like this are the exception to simply ghosting/not engaging with the hubbub, because it'll leave a nastier scar that you'll need to deal with, one way or another, this one is probably the quickest solutions.

Or there's always have your shit set to always private and not engage/put yourself at risk to start with, works well for me. Feck the rest of the world.
 
Wear a white hoodie and sunglasses everywhere, live somewhere rural. Try to avoid people as much as possible.
