How well does deplatforming work?

On all Android phones in Russia, Google Play doesn't work, and peopls have to rely on a new one with hardly anything on it called Nashstore (it has about 500 app devs). And it wasn't only that Google pulling out did damage to, but it was also their access to YouTube (they rely on RuTube now). And their isolation from Visa, Mastercard, etc has lead to alternatives in the financial system, thus birthing the Mir payment system. They have their own phones too.

This comes as iOS halts all business with Russia and Google Chrome becomes non-functional. I think Russia may have to rely on China for cheap alternatives and workarounds because as of now they ain't got shit on American companies.

So if anything, deplatforming generally works, but only in the short-term. Long-term? They'll be able to maneuver better next time. And if you're referring to the alt-right, only radicalize them further. I dunno.

But as for KF? Didn't turn out the way the troons wanted.

They will find work around with vpns and other ways it's like chinese csgo/steam. These are both completely separate but before they existed its not like chinese didn't play cs they just used work arounds. Also like you said china is amazing at making cheap of brand's which are just good enough to function but nothing special. Also just a prediction but after the ukraine war is over they will slowly start reintroducing these product so its not a hit to their rep.

Deplatforming works really well which is why they do it. And it definitely works in the long-term. The alt-right (or anyone with "extreme" politics) have been absolutely fucked by deplatforming. Jersh (PBUH) is constantly fighting an uphill battle to keep KW up.

You can always point to rare cases of people overcoming deplatforming and reaching their previous popularity, but it's like pointing out that Lance Armstrong won 7 Tours after going through cancer, chemo, and losing a ball. He's an extreme outlier + had a little help :smug:

It works but I think has the unintended consequence of splintering the net and forcing "bad actors" into harder-to-monitor corners of the internet. The propaganda machine is demonstrably effective.

why did you sign up to shill for Russia in a thread about a dog rapist

Deplatforming is effective. Devon Stack has a mere fraction of the number of subscribers on odysee compared to YouTube. Other dissident voices more so. Stefan Molyneux has gone into obscurity....

Deplatforming individuals is much more effective than deplatforming entire nations, obviously. Apples to Oranges.

>Google Play doesn't work

Retards can't install APKs onto their phones, or just use bluestacks or any other equivalent.

Also the unintended consequence of KF becoming the final destination of every far right schizoposter.

Yeah, it keeps the normies away from their views but now you're forcing them into an echo chamber where they just continually reinforce their own views and who the fuck thought that was a good idea?
