It's not really about the leaks, but the discourse surrounding them.

basically what happened.
some nigga on twitter (Ultra Gamer) who was friends with a bunch of RE lolcows got busted for harassing the wahmenn in RE fandom. (tw: The "woman" in question)

Now he's going around posting leaks and trolling these hoes about how Chris is going to be confirmed gay, which generated another discourse about "representation" because certain clowns are really obsessed with the idea of Chris being a flaming homo like their life depends on it. These tumblrtards may seem like a vocal minority but they're extremely good at flocking every social media channel spreading their bullshit faster than a T-virus outbreak. They already got community managers to ban "problematic" memes, so imagine what could happen if Capcom really starts pandering to them.

tldr; RE may not be going woke (yet) but western RE fandom is a cringefest, avoid at all costs.

Back on topic. RE8 looks alright so far. It's definitely not tlou2. Nothing about it screams woke to me, except maybe Ethan's daughter lowkey reminding me of Brie Larson. But at least she's blonde, so I'm good.

Was the ending part leaked yet though? While the TLOU2 leaks were damming originally, the rest of the shitshow that it was, including the ending, would only be found out when the game released.

with tlou it was the golf clubbing scene when shit hit the fan and things only escalated from there.

We haven't heard anything new from the leaker, but the end bit where Chris raises Ethan's daughter and the timeskip showing her at Ethan's grave seem legit. Dusk faggot confirmed that too. Obviously large chunk of the story is missing but the biggest concern people had is that Chris will die, and he won't.

It's hilarious to see a capcom powerpoint presentation about the last of us 2 is such a good game, so the reason the RE8 ending jumps around 15-20 years is to make Rose Winters the next main character of RE9..hmm,for me crapcom the last of us 2 is shitty game and garbage story.

I think the story sounds pretty stupid. But then again I haven't played since the old games that were mostly about zombies. So I have no idea what is going on or why.

Im in the same boat as you. Noped out after RE 4 because I wanted survival horror, not wacky action shooter with anime haired hero man.

You know how many years it took for Claire to get in another game after Code Veronica? We're still waiting on Jill to make a return, any return, to the series. Sherry will probably get another game when she's 40 years old in universe.

Agreed as well. Revelations really didn't feel like a return to form on Jill's part. Somewhat feels like we're never going to see the original duo tackling BOW adventures together again.
