Hurricane Milton

The best thing about these two storms have been by far Lieutenant Dan ❤️

Update: friend down in Florida is perfectly fine, just confused why I was fussing over it. Florida people really are a completely different species, yall nuts.

The people who are complaining that it's a big nothingburger, fuckin....how lmao. How can you be disappointed in the lack of destruction? That's so beyond the pale. I'd rather prepare for the absolute worst than be caught off guard.

Is there still the third hurricane brewing? Idk if that's still a thing.

Ventured out a little bit after I finished shit at the house. Saw a couple of downed trees and shit but nothing worth posting that hasn't been seen here already. A local strip mall got fucked up a bit so I took a video and a photo. Video is an awning ripped off the side of the building and the photo is just mass palm frond destruction.

I actually heard a lot of sounds of steel twisting in the wind last night coming from that direction. Could very well have been the sound of that awning getting blasted.

I know a dude who has one that was washed ashore on the south cost of the UK and uses it as a office that was used to transport BMW motorbikes
Smart choice. Didn't the people who got the bikes have to give them all back? I imagined that the container would be on the beach for years afterwards. Although knowing the shipping industry there's probably zero chance of tracing the owner.

Here's some pretty good footage from Tampa:

City itself seems to have fared well all things considered. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say they DODGED a bullet, more like... grazed by one. Still, this had the potential just a couple days ago to be a complete disaster for Tampa so I'm happy to see that Florida kiwis mostly made it out alright!

Seven day outlook says probably not:

Milton's no longer even a tropical storm and Leslie's out there chilling in the middle of the Atlantic. That yellow area has a 20% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within 7 days, so that's worth at least keeping an eye on. No immediate risks at the moment.

Welp, this thread was interesting and informative for a couple days at least. Shame it had to end this way.

Florida Kiwis, I am very happy you're safe and I pray you all have minimal issues post-Milton.
I honestly wish this thread didn't get pinned. The discussion was way better before that happened. It almost immediately devolved into 30 pages of retarded conspiracy theories about weather created by people who don't know shit about weather.

From what I heard, it dipped to Category 3 upon reaching the shore.

I heard this from Florida men, though, so there's that.
NOAA downgraded it to a Category 3 at 18:00 local time, it made landfall at 19:30 local time, so that's more or less correct.

Yeah we were having a lot of really good, genuine discussion about it, and then the A&Niggers and the feature tourists showed up and it went to total shit. Good on the mods for splitting the thread, wish it was done way earlier.

Anyway, update from my Sarasotabro, he says that both Siesta and Longboat are mulched pretty bad, to the point the authorities are limiting who can go there due to the amount of debris and unstable buildings. This was also his experience earlier today and he's just now relaying it to me, so I don't know how accurate it is currently. He says cell service is spotty so information lag is a real factor. I have a bad feeling that we're going to see some very significant damage to coastal property in Sarasota. Thank God most everyone evacuated. Buildings can be rebuilt, things can be replaced, but lives lost are gone forever.

Speaking of things getting rebuilt, i know im probably being captain obvious here, but that stadium's roof seems like it has to be completely torn down, right? It seems like it's barely holding itself together

Naples man here my area got no damage not even flooding. No power which sucks but I think we should be up and running soon hopefully.

I don't really know, what I do know is that Tampa Bay fans would've preferred if the entire goddamn thing came down.
