Okay honestly I get OP's whole thing about not being actively mean to service workers but people who get wayyyy too self aggrandizing over how *nice* they are to service workers kind of remind me of this picture. Like, they actively force them to indulge in laboured smalltalk, as if they're doing them some kind of favour. The whole time they're just boring them, me, and everyone involved, just for the ego-stroke of "I'm so nice to service workers". It feels like they internalized reddit advice about how to be a "nice guy" a little too intensely.

This video honestly captures the vibe perfectly.

I don't get it.

People (almost always black people) who are constantly talking on the phone, seemingly for hours at a time. Who are you talking to? What is so complicated that this conversation has to go on for hours?
Hahahaha I've actually done this. In my case it's usually just prolonged conversations about nothing with friends who don't live in my city anymore. It's sort of like how people form parasocial relationships with podcasters to drown out the noise in their minds, except this time it's actually social and not parasocial.

When I first saw the clip I thought it was mildly amusing. Just a dumb, probably slightly inebriated woman talking about spitting on the dick in a stupid street interview. Like everything else now it got beaten into the ground within a day because sex sex sex oh my god sexy sex.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's astroturfed though too since it really isn't that compelling. I also wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being offered a spot on the Whatever podcast by the end of the month, expected to argue with some dumb stripper about why she's a "pick me" or some stupid shit.
I swear, this whole thing feels forced and astroturfed. It was funny, and I mean 2/10 "oh that's kind of funny", for about 5 seconds, and not even worth re-watching. I just don't understand why people are going along with it.

I don’t get why you’re now seen as the odd one if you want to keep your work life separate from your private life, and especially not talk about controversial subjects while on the clock. That was something my dad drilled into me as a teenager “the quickest way to make people at work hate you is to discuss politics and religion. Don’t do it, son” and it seems like that mentality has turned around completely and you’re now looked at like a weirdo if you’re not chimping Orange Man Bad! on the job.
You're not the odd one at all, what they're trying to do is feel you out and get you to say something they can use against you in the future. There is no well-meaning or good-natured reason to discuss someone's political beliefs at work.

Why is it when Black people set up or come to an event, we show up late? For example, a Black family sets up a cookout at 2:30 PM. When guests come around that time, we're just setting it up. Or when we're invited to stuff, we show up an hour or so after the RSVP? Sometimes, people get at you for showing up 15-20 minutes early.

You are basically inciting racial abuse here, you rascal

That being described as reddit behavior is spot on. I work in retail and I have customers who profusely apologize for asking me where something is at, and I appreciate it, but it's also literally my job to help you. It's okay to make me do my job, that's why I'm paid to be here. It gets kinda annoying. My favourite customers are the boomers with the lead paint stare who walk up to me and go "SOAP" and I just say "TEN" and they march on to aisle 10. No theatrics, just SOAP.

I do not understand people that regularly go to Disney World/Land and Universal Studios. Growing up, getting to go to Disney World was a special occasion because it was expensive and so far away from me. Now there's people that go semi-religiously and I can't help but wonder why. Wouldn't it lose its magic after the third or fourth go?

I really hate when people that you know, even family members or lifelong friends, go through a lifestyle change, get a bit of fame or money, and change themselves completely. Essentially they end up playing a character non-stop and eschew their true personality entirely. PL: I was friends with a person who became something of a local celebrity (think along the lines of a regional newscaster) and let that bit of fame go to their head. All of a sudden, old friends were either "beneath them" or basically just viewed as a means to an end. No Karen, I'm not going to use my current career contacts to get you in touch with so-and-so to launchpad you further up the chain, at my own expense.... 🙄

Any of the words that come out of Kamala Harris's mouth.
EXCUUUZE YOU, that's Madame Vice President (and resident hyena impersonator) Kamala Harris to you, good feline! I'll have you know that she is a strong and independant bi-racial Black/Indian?/Hatian?/(Insert whatever convenient race of brown here) Woman™️! And she shares such inspirational words as

It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day.”

"We've got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are because you have been forced to take this seriously."
And who could forget her often repeated speech, with a quote so inspiring that she repeated it ad-nauseum even in totally irrelevant situations.
"What can be, unburdened by what has been."
Truly inspiring words of inspiration that only the brightest 8th grader on their first day of pre-philosophy could muster!!!

When people run from the police. They have cameras, they have helicopters, they have dogs that can track your scent. Or try to drive off for a traffic stop like it's GTA. Again, they have your vehicle make, model, license plate, ID and HELICOPTERS to find their ass. They'll going to find them eventually.
Obviously their purpose in life is to be fodder for content on various YouTube compilations of wrecks and TV shows dealing with high-speed chases.

Why is The Last Stand Charlie and not a starlet now?

The amount of times I've witnessed people trauma dumping on Mcdonalds or Walmart employees. Saying they just got out of rehab when given their ice coffee, or some obese woman trying to haggle a couple dollars off of pillows cause she has scoliosis or fibromyalgia. The type of people that make their problem someone else's problem.
Probably lonely people that are desperate to talk to someone, even if they won’t emotionally reciprocate and are a hostage.
