I've always been skeptical of the chasing benefits postulations until I saw today how many case managers this clinic has and what exactly it is they do. They exist to chase benefits for customers.

Like...I get it. It’s easier to accept your problems when you chalk it up to something you can’t control, and with mental illness diagnoses being very uncertain and subjective in our current day, they might very well be convinced they do have all these convenient things and aren’t 100% lying about it. More like they’ve gotten so lazy they’ve conned themselves with their own excuses. Not a totally uncommon problem here in America.

But the thing that’s destroyed these sad Kentuckyfucks is that they refuse to stand ANY sense of discomfort or responsibility for even a second. Even if it means drinking yourself through the day with your squealy 600lb toddler-girlfriend constantly putting you down, or remaining bed bound for days on end with no social interaction besides your roommates and your Twitter, it beats having to work or be hungry for a little bit.

Go ahead and rate me late, it’s definitely been said before, but idk I just can’t get over how miserable they’ve made their entire lives just to avoid an hour’s discomfort. I diagnose every single one of these dolts with lazy. The prescription is a job and a 1500 calorie diet, both conveniently located at Wommart.

Somewhere, I think in one of Eric's videos, one of them mentioned that Ricky grew up in a violent household where his parents were abusive towards each other, and maybe him? I don't remember if they were towards him. Then he was disowned for being gay and Eric is literally the only person he has. It's more than understandable why he would have anxiety issues, but despite having probably the roughest life out of anyone in the hut, he's the most viable in society.

See, this right here is why any competent mental health professional avoids diagnosing until they’ve gotten to know you a bit. They may have opinions upon the first meeting, but they don’t slap you with a label unless they’ve gotten to know your patterns and delved into the outside factors that may affect them. Either this is the most incompetent mental health provider in the entire Commonwealth of KY or they are a pay for play kind of “situation” designed to get lazy bitches gubmint benefits.

Ricky is like most of people, most of it had traumas, shit childhood, shit relationships, anxiety at some level, but that do not stop them from adulting and doing what is need to be done, facing anxiety everyday they up to work, everyday they step outside to walk their dogs, to study, to take their kids to school.
Some on medication, some under influence to handle it, some cold turkey sober, but DOING it.

There are not enough pills in the world that can “cure” a personality disorder nor can a personality disorder be diagnosed in one session. This is a quack in Bumfuck, KY who is used to wringing money out of Medicaid to get assholes like this “diagnosed” to claim benefits. Or, it’s just a completely incompetent “therapist”. Or Hamber is lying her shelf ass off. Pick your poison.

It's really sad how invalidating they are to each other and their partners (with the exception of Rickie). Even the question about when their first fight was. Everyone had different answers, and everyone kind of shit on their partner's answers. Kermit takes the cake in this one, though. It's a shame Rickie is such a pushover, cause he really does deserve more than he gets in life (and specifically, in that relationship).

Eric has some nerve acting like his husband's anxiety is misplaced. I bet if he had a job and anything resembling responsibility, he'd be able to fully appreciate all the sacrifices Rickie makes daily. To Rickie, speaking up or telling them to clean/do chores/help him could cause a fight or an altercation, and he thinks that THAT would be worse than just manning up and getting on with it. It's not healthy, no, but to Rickie he is conditioned to take the path of least resistance.

I work with a lottt of survivors of childhood trauma, a lot of whom have similar behaviors to Amberlynn. From the 3+ years of content I've watched, Amber clearly has at least one (but likely two) cluster B personality disorders. If you interact with people who have Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) on a regular basis, it becomes super easy to tell if someone is exhibiting symptoms. Compulsive lying, unstable sense of self, destructive behaviors like binge eating, and a lack of commitment to sustainable change, to name a few. Our gorl shares SO MUCH with us that it's become super easy to spot, imo. I really don't think that she gave us the full story, or even got an accurate diagnosis (that is, if she was diagnosed with anything to begin with). Usually psychs don't diagnose personality disorders at first, because they're hard to pick up on at first AND they're notoriously difficult to treat. She's not going to get help until she starts seeing someone who specializes in DBT or other BPD/histrionic-related treatments. That is... if she's even willing to put in the effort.

I once had someone tell me that personality disorders aren't like mood or anxiety disorders because they are not caused by a chemical imbalance. A personality disorder is at the core of who someone is. It IS, in essence, part of their identity. Amberlynn isn't going to be magically better because she's taking Lexapro again. She has to change the way she views herself and the world around her to get better. She essentially has to become a new person, and I don't think our gorl will ever be ready for that.

people in the comments say there has to be a diagnosis for billing purposes. not sure if that applies just to insurance paying? since AL is paying out of pocket. another theory is they have to say "this is what is wrong with you" to keep a patient coming back. with 4 diagnosis that can take some time, more visits and more $$$. clearly the place Becky and mumbles goes to isn't about getting people better and functioning since they haven't gone back to work or even talk about wanting to get better to go back to work. if they got better and no longer needed services then that's 2 patients and less $$$. Now they see AL and she has "grateful amounts of money" (probably more income than the case workers there) so they will try to take advantage of that.

If she's able to ignore her body she's far more capable of ignoring her mind. Oh well.
