I understand that part. What I'm trying to figure out if this was just a couple of 1s ans 0s being changed in the router or did he have to get service from a new ISP

Dong Gong and his ilk are going to be sending some level of threats, polite yet firm emails from us won't stack up against threats, and obviously any threat from someone on the farms' side is going to instantly be seized on as an excuse to shut it all down instantly. I'm not saying being completely passive is the right move, it's just that they have more leeway in their actions and can get away with trying to apply any level of coercion they want while Josh has to walk a very very fine line to make any kind of progress. If the troons overreach, the status quo for that link of the chain remains, they have lost nothing, and just move on to a new attack vector. If Josh or an overzealous farmer overreaches, it might trigger an instant shutdown from the company in question, every company they're friendly with, and a fresh round of news stories about the evul harassment of the kiwifarms. Of course the actual people engaging in harassment will never ever face this kind of problem, because they are mentally ill perverts, which for some reason gives them functional immunity.

Has anyone figured out who the "other side" is? Since Elliot says the "other side" was discussing the matter publicly. Of course if the other party didn't use his name then it's unlikely to find out what really happened this many years later.
 
So is the site being back up on clearnet only by region/ISP? I can still only access the site via the Tor extension on Brave, attempting on regular browser or mobile gives me a "page could not be loaded" error message.

The issue was at a single point, so I'm assuming that it takes a while for the fix to make it back to the user.
