I believe quite a few organizations issues signature keys for private persons for them to digitally sign documents. Would those be useful in any way towards keeping the Farms online? The first paragraph of 3.1 refers to the CP/CPS, or Certificate Practice Statement, section 1.4.1, which seems to be the most likely source of their justification as it allows for a very broad interpretation.

Edit: reading it again, there is a sentence in there about "loss of life" which is why the 10000000 articles floating around out there claiming that the KF is a harassment forum that hunts down and murders innocent troons are such a problem. The only recourse here is to correct the record.

what owns here is that all of these clauses are specifically about business-related shit and conspicuously avoid giving the issuer carte blanche:

I have no idea what goes into setting up a CA and getting everyone to recognize you but it's got to be long, complicated, and expensive. The KF would be down for months if not years if that's the plan. The market is pretty much saturated at this point and it would need to be a CA for Onion links.
