It's not like psychologists and psychological literature don't already extensively discuss the degree to which sexuality (and lack of it) can affect mental health. There's an entire branch of psychology dedicated to it. The fact that they haven't come to conclusions that support yours isn't due to lack of awareness, it's due to your conclusions being stupid.

I do agree with you that prostitution should be legal, but that's more due to my concern for sex worker's rights than "incels". But I don't think legal prostitution would actually stop "incel" whining. That German pilot, who many incels have claimed as one of their own, came from a country where prostitution is legal and readily available.

That german pilot definitely was not incel, and anyone that thinks that he was is an idiot. I said before the majority of SlutHate posters are idiots, I don't associate with them.

I concur that many 'loveshy' tend to be (older) white, many 'incel' tend to be (younger) ethnic.

I don't really follow this whole loveshy/incel thing but I think I sort of understand where they're coming from, simply because contemporary society is very sex obsessed, to the point where it's become a commodity or a trophy rather than as a pleasurable and intimate activity. Young people especially are caught in this trap and forced to buy in to a system where you are often judged by your sexual conquests or lack thereof, and it's actually quite amazing that a lot of much older adults still think in these terms too.

Where these people fall over philosophically is that instead of rejecting this system, they buy even more deeply into it because they say that it's "owed" to them because of their position in society or something - at least that's what I'm understanding by a cursory reading of this shit.

I feel for these severe cases (usually young ones, teen/early 20s) very much and imagine the regret they feel sometimes

incels don't have this problem, they approach opposite sex but get shot down constantly
I use better judgement on these to see if they are ok or unsavoury

I think I've found at least one of the root causes of @IceCat's white knighting of Loveshys and incels.

my mother is more-or-less the root cause of my pain. Up until the age of 18 she fervently did her best to isolate me away from any female interaction; and she basically succeeded. Until the age of 18 I was absolutely isolated away from the female sex. It is no wonder why I was a social freak when I went to college.

When I was 24 I brought home the most beautiful girl I probably have ever dated. My mother's reaction: burst into my room and start screaming at the girl. The girl dumped me obviously very quickly after this incident.

There are other stories. Suffice to say that she destroyed my life.
But saying all this however, I do not hate her, at least not nearly as much as I used to. She is my mother, and according to the Bible I must respect her for this. In her warped mind I guess maybe she was doing what she thought was OK.

I don't think that the role of sex has been that much different during different ages unless you count artificial repression on sexuality during certain eras/in certain cultures. At least for males, sexual conquests have been strongly tied to social status since the dawn of man.

I guess maybe what I mean is that now it's much more explicit and ubiquitous when people talk about and judge themselves and others based on sexual conquests and so on. Maybe it's just me?
