I think the main function of Rosechu was to give Sonichu a missus, because Chris thinks everyone getting everything they want right away makes for a good story. Personality-wise, she's basically Chris' idea of a perfect wife - does all the hard work, is a total nympho, loves her husband unconditionally on first sight and will do anything for him. Chris doesn't identify with her in any real sense, because she doesn't have that kind of depth. One of the main reasons he got so upset about the idea that she had a cock, IMO, was because then she was no longer the perfect woman he'd envisioned for his cool friend Sonichu.

Eh, sort of. I think it's fair to say all of his characters are self-interest to a degree, for the exact reasons you just said ironically; Chris, like most autists, has no theory of mind and can't really put himself in someone else's shoes. So too a degree, yes, Sonichu IS Chris, or rather, what Chris wishes or thinks he should be. But on another level, Sonichu is just an amalgamation of everything Chris thinks is cool. He's the best friend, the sidekick. More importantly, he represents a character that is not threatening to Chris. Not because he'd imagine Sonichu leaping out of the page and strangling him or some crap, but a stereotypically masculine action hero say for example a superhero or action movie star, that would present a character that's too intense for Chris. It would set unrealistic goals, it would challenge him as being unmanly, it would give him the prickly wicklies basically.

I think there's also something to the fact that Chris made almost all of his other characters some sort of LGBTQ rainbow hug fest, including the comic version of himself (now complete with giant boobs) but has thus far kept both Sonichu and Rosechu straight. I think that really speaks to his weird gender issues. The trans thing is more of a fetish for him than a lifestyle, if that makes any sense.

Of course, other characters like Chris Chan, Hobo Chan, Lovely Weather, Reginald Sneasel, his fucking pony avatar and so forth represent more overt self-inserts. Ironically I would say Rosechu is one of the few characters who ISN'T a self-insert, if only because she doesn't have enough personality to be anything. I don't want to say Chris is an exceptionally exceptional individual, but I don't think he fully believes he's trans. I think he thinks he thinks he's trans but he still can't beat out the definitely-male part of his brain. He's not a transtrender, and he's not just pretending to be trans, but I don't think he's fully convinced he's trans, either. He's roleplaying being trans because right now he thinks it's part of who he is, but it's more because he's ignoring his male brain instead of embracing his female brain.
I have absolutely no evidence to support this claim so take it with a few dozen grains of salt. I just don't think that anyone should take Chris at face value. He's clearly got some issues and those will, more likely than not, affect everything he does. He tends to live in a world of fantasies that he believes are real, and I think that the Tomgirl saga is related to that facet of his imagination. Being a tomgirl is a fantasy that he is playing out as if it were real, not a reality he's facing head-on.

He's not just believing it, he's pissed off about it. You can see that if you're well-versed in his typing style. I can imagine him trying to convince Rosechu that she is mistaken and never had a pickle.

Chris is definitely more committed to becoming a woman than any of the Rat Kings we cover here (@Marvin already mentioned that he's taking actual transition medication, and he's taking extra soy sauce (lol) and fenugreek seeds as well), but he's operating under some very magical assumptions: He is still assuming that he will still have a child and name her Crystal, but now he assumes that he will give birth to her. He is assuming that girls will now somehow find him more desirable as a mate, among other weird assumptions I can't think of now.

Also, Chris has always had problems with his own gender, remember that he hates males for some reason, which is a mental paradox for him when you consider that he himself is male, plus, being a female is a nice and cozy blanket that 'coincidentally' solves a lot of his problems, like the problem he 'solved' using menstrual pads.

And like many of the Rat Kings we cover here, it also functions as an mental escape from the shit he did as a male: That was Chris who fucked a sex doll while yelling JULAY, not Christine, it was Chris who put a medallion up his ass, not pristine Christine..etc.

I'm pretty sure that in his mind (whether by conscious choice, or unconsciously), he thinks the only reason that he can't completely get away with it is that people are still asking him about it.
