If homos can’t reproduce, how come their quantity is increasing?

I didn’t believe this for years, but you can absolutely talk yourself into homosexuality if you just want to be special that badly. All of the most permissive and “open-minded” parents I know have weird ass gay and trans (and fat, and tattooed) grown kids, sometimes all of their kids claiming to be ‘queer’, while those with normal or strict parents just turned out…normal. What a coincidence! I’m sure plenty of people just naturally feel attraction to the same sex as they grow up but come on.

It's possible that acceptance/tolerance increased the number of people who were gay but never admitted it.
If the age of consent in America somehow became 14 the amount of people admitting attraction to that age would fucking explode.
It's like the Senator that bans gay marriage while tapping his feet in a highway rest stop.

That surely accounts for some of it. But that’s also the argument people make for the explosion of trannies as well, that they were always around and now they‘re free to be ~themselves~. Okay, maybe some, but it’s undoubtedly the trendy thing to be as well.

I don’t think it’s just about growing up in a controlled environment, I believe there are some aspects to that - a few lolcows I know that claimed they grew up in a strict religious Christian household ended up living a life completely opposing any Christian standards, like becoming convicted felons or indulging into various kinds of faggotry - as if they’ve had a yearning desire for something that was a taboo or forbidden to them for their entire childhood, and as soon as they became adults, they have completely immersed themselves into it, disregarding all of the ethics that were given to them as they were growing up.

Though I can’t deny that these cases might be more about bad parenting overall and a child developing a mindset somewhat similar to “I associate traditional ethics with my conservative parents who made my life miserable, therefore the idea of traditional ethics disgusts me”.

That’s a good point, even though I was simply implying male-with-male or female-with-female reproduction. Going with that intentionally far-fetched title felt too tempting, I should probably change it, since I see more sincere posts coming along. I would actually assume that a gay man and a lesbian woman can have sex and give birth to a heterosexual baby - plenty of Hollywood actors are engaged and have children, so it’s gotta be practical.

Thread title aside though, I was genuinely wondering how come I and all people I know with fine cognitive thinking and conscious awareness feel like there happen to be much more queers in our lives than just two decades ago. I assumed someone might share a few ideas that I haven’t thought of before, or some utopic conspiracy theories that’d be fun to read.

The medication letrozole caused homosexuality in rats. While I haven't looked into the "microplastics make you gay" theory, it definitely could make sense.
While acceptance of homosexuality has definitely also caused homo populations to rise, just like every other sexual abnormality there are likely other factors such type of upbringing that can also cause homo rates to rise.
