If Money and resources were no objects, what business would you start? - Being Autistic productively

Hot tub cinema with couples rooms for date night, and bigger rooms for hanging with the boys.

Some sort of combination machine shop with CNC machines, lathes, welders, mills, etc, and garage for building and tuning cool engine-powered shit like race cars and such.

I’d say if you had $20k, you could put enough machine shop for at least one person to stay busy in your garage. God knows I don’t mean you could mill out an engine block, although people did do that back in the day.. CNC milling wasn’t even invented until the early 1950’s.

Biggest, most immediate problem doing it in your garage would be power service. I’m pretty sure you need at least a 30 amp breaker to run one cnc machine at a time, and a three phase converter.

I'd offer grant money to help people reopen the local businesses that have all but disappeared on the Main Street. And I'd open a sober club. This area lacks one.

One of two things. My first choice run something dedicated to outdoorsy people, something in the backwoods that catered to hunters and campers. I'd have a gun range, and hundreds of acres of land for people to hunt and/or camp on.
We need more nature reserves like this. If I could choose how my tax dollars were spent, I would have it all go towards national parks and forests.

Nature is beautiful, industrial society sucks.

My initial answers are torn - on one hand, games studio - favorite hobby, and with no resource concerns, I could actually make those niche games people want without having to dive into weird monetization to pay the taxman and his blood stone. Hardest part would be keeping the weirdo's out of the hiring pipeline.

On the other hand, an arsenal focusing on authentically crafted reproduction guns from the ages would be cool. Authentically crafted as in, that 1800's flintlock is all hand made with actual artisans, that 1910's springfield is simple machine line, and all the variations between. Just gathering and preserving a lot of that talent that made arms the old way, but with access to modern materials so its less likely to explode in your face from being a bad batch of metal. Plus, any lines making more modern designs could probably be turned to contract work if my mysterious benefactor pulls the plug and the shop needs to sustain itself.

I would operate a small but respectable Feed & Seed shop with a dark secret
Is the name of the shop the dark secret?
I'd become an international man of mystery and I'd stand on 5 EVERY TIME. ( I too like to live dangerously too)
That's more of a profession than a business though. Would you run the international spy agency too? Or maybe a casino only for spies...

Good point. I'd probably go with the casino since I'm at least as good as LossmanJack at gambling.

Drive in/ outdoor movie theater with a focus on cult and classic films built on the outskirts of town. Theme nights, family nights, adults only nights. Horror marathons through the month of October. Food trucks, beer and wine. Hand painted movie posters by local artists. Nice restrooms. Offer rentals for private events (no doubt in my mind people would reserve a screen for fam reunions/wedding party/bdays/private screenings etc).
I feel like it would be a draw. People love nostalgia.

You know the restaurant twin peaks? You know how every time someone hears online that there's a restaurant called twin peaks they get hyped and immediately get disappointed once they hear its a hooters knock off instead of a restaurant dedicated to a two season niche tv show from the early 90s? Well thats what i would make. My friend thought about combining the two concepts and i'll steal that idea too. It would be called Lydia's and it would be just a goth version of hooters, except instead of shorts and cleavage its black unitards or goth clothing. Basically its a restaurant for if you wanted to eat on the set of a tim burton film. plus because of the theme customers can't expect the waitresses to be upbeat or smile. it would be perfectly fine to be sullen or moody. My 3rd idea for a restaurant is basically a web 2.0 dedicated restaurant. like imagine a restaurant with goofy shit on the walls but its all memes from 2005-2013. the tv's would all be showing web videos from that era too and the music would be stuff like MSI or MCR or other dogshit from that era. all the food would have names from stuff from that era like they'd be callled Cheezburgers and well's have annoying oranges as a side and the mascot would be a cat. And we'd have image micros etched all over the tables. Also the ads would be deliberately like some dogshit youtube video from that era, with rape jokes or blackface and shit like that. We'd pretty much exclusively be focusing on the most offensive to modern teens part of the era. people calling each other faggot, anti-women jokes, etc.

you don't have one of those near you?

I'd buy up some major robotics company and build a theme park in the Midwest with life-sized realistic dinosaur robots that could walk around without being on rails or wires, controlled like drones by employees wearing VR gear.

There's 5 or 6 in the whole state. The closest one to the biggest city in the state is about 60 miles away from said city. I don't know why there aren't more. We have the weather for it.
I went to one a few weeks ago and that's why the idea was fresh in my mind.

I would start a company that manufactures modular and self-repairable smartphones with replacable batteries.

It would have a custom OS similar to something like Graphene or PurismOS but with the support of a company behind it to ensure stability and ease of use.

You would be able to configure each component that went into it from the camera to the SoC itself. You could also select between an ARM or RISC V processor. It would be similar to the Framework laptop except a smartphone.

I'd follow Null around all day and just throw (now worthless) coins at him all day. I'd start a business where I hire other to do it in shifts. Every MATI would be punctuated by the sounds of coins hitting Josh at Lightspeed for the entire stream.
