Site allegedly went bankrupt and was sold to new owners. I had some documentation on this, but I have no idea where it is now.

upon discovery that she had fat tits the entire app switched up and started making posts about how hot she was or ironically praising her music. (there was one with that black kid being forced to dance and he looks super upset about it that i can't find) this kinda just kept going, one of the major users (Amerikaner? Nikolas?) made it a meme that he was dating her. there were a lot of posts shipping her with kaiser wilhelm (fig. 3) because the ironic "kaiser shotgun" meme was popular at the time as well. Eventually it got to the point where they started sending her the memes and raiding her instagram, fan discord server, etc. She even mentioned this in a livestream one time, saying the memes were actually pretty funny and she may have saved some of them, i might try to dig that up later. Later on she moved back to america and got fat and there were a lot of cope posts saying that she was just curvy or whatever (fig. 4) but she had clearly gained a lot of weight compared to fig. 2.

It was originally owned by the Russian company FunCorp but it was bought out by some venture capitalist a few years ago. Nothing changed for a while until the recent Fishtank sponsorship and the banocaust, trying to revitalize the brand in a new direction. Why they would choose to associate with Sam Hyde while simultaneously alienating the people who might actually like him to do that, I have no clue.

Although I'm not really convinced iFunny is some hidden treasure trove either. I think its fair to say that ifunny popularized it. No where else really has a culture of being anti-degenerate while also having a huge degenerate corner of the site. 4chan I guess but you don't see /pol/ users moralizing on /b/ to its users. Degenerates on ifunny will confidently post their retarded coomer takes on white nationalist and Christian fundamentalist accounts because they saw it in collective. Very minor iFunny lore tidbits I'll add on, been using it since 2013 but less over time, stuck with some oldheads from there to this day though:

-Saboteur was arrested mid-way through doing profile rates and never finished them. This has lead to him being asked "Are you gonna finish those rates?" consistently through the years and the question itself can be more or less seen as a direct reference to him.

-There was a short bit of ifunnyer pride renaissance a couple years back, proclaiming the phrase "Part of the ship, part of the crew." This got old in under a month and you can still sometimes find people saying "part of the shit, part of the poo" ironically

-Bronies used to be a BIG part of the userbase early on before getting bullied off/into hiding it by offensives/SWA

-October each year led to a big surge of skeleton memes, in the name of the Great Skeleton Wars. Reinforced with milk, the skeletons won the war each year
