Rumor albeit, but even if neither were ace and lived together as "friends", you know people would still say the same thing.

There is the possibility that he could just not exist at all but... idk. I think even the most BPD SSRI induced skank wouldn't pull something like that in front of millions of people, they usually have to blame an actual person or thing for their suffering. A munchie pulling that, maybe, but she doesn't strike me as that kind of extreme illness since she'd be constantly posting about it for attention.

One of the stories I heard while looking into Ilyssa and particularly with Chikichu is that Harris is 100% a real person and it's believed by her a-logs that his real name is Harris. The whole shit show happened because Chiki tried to find and interview him to get his side of the story. I believe she and her fans chimped out at the time and got the stream related to it taken down and this caused a bit of a small scale shit show. Or at least that's what I heard through the grape vine.

I think that this is the most popular reason--grifting or not. And it's almost always white women. It's the exact same reason white women overwhelmingly make up the nonbinary category. When your social sphere says white women are evil and they're not allowed to be sad or report rapes because their tears kill pocs, you can get out of it by being nonbinary asexual. Neither require any sort of evidence or proof to belong to those categories and if anyone questions it, they're a bigot.

There was a time when asexuality was a much more narrow definition of a person who truly lacked any desire to have sex or have sexual attraction. Biologically, it makes sense these people would exist since we have hypersexuality on the other end of the spectrum. But I also believe the true asexuals aren't plastering it on their bios and waving around flags.

Ily is 100% a grifter trying to dodge being a problematic cishet white woman in her social sphere and among her fans. I wouldn't be shocked if nonbinary is next since she's getting a lot of heat right now.

Exactly this. Since Tumblr decided you have to have an oppressed identity to be taken seriously/cared about, and that it's nobody's obligation to prove their identity, the numbers of people identifying as XYZ whatever skyrocketed. Then these people, who are just regular ol' straight whites or whatever, started saying "well I have sexual attraction so asexuality is a spectrum--" (or whatever is appropriate for the specific thing they're identifying as.)
