I'm getting too old for this shit.

I think Null should do what he feels is right for him mentally and emotionally, but imho, having an admin or two who he can trust is a good thing. Null don't have to do all the KF work alone, he can distribute tasks and whatnot to other people he trusts to help him run the site.
Another thing, if he feels most new users are only here to shitpost or be annoying, disabling the sign up option for a while must help. People who only want to make an account here to be low quality posters won't be able to and probably will go away to annoy someone else.

Just my two cents.

Im somewhat younger than you Josh, and I am likely to be facing a similar situation. It is strange to think that there may be millions of young men in the West who like you soon will find themselves in their 30s with no wife or hope for the future. Marriage rates are in the toilet, the birth rate is even worse, and good women are hard to find. I suppose that I should pay attention to how you get out of this mess.

sorry, I had to

I enjoy watching your mad at the internet streams, and I remember that you gave the advice to mumkey to let Dick Masterson help him have fun and find a woman, at least for the night... what if you ask Dick Masterson for some help like that?

I understand how you feel @Null despite not being anywhere near the scenario you find yourself in now. Taking some time away is healthy, especially for someone so opposed to delegating responsibility like yourself.

1. If you have a lady you're sweet on, don't hesitate. Starting a family takes time and patience, but the best part of married life is finding someone to be your muse, your confidant, and your lover. Build your relationship on trust and you will weather good times and bad.

2. Being an absolutist is tiring and often a fruitless endeavor. I appreciate how you hold free speech to be sacrosanct. Kiwi Farms wouldn't be a refuge from the woke consoomer nightmare that the rest of the internet became without your zeal. But zeal is an active emotion, it can and will bleed you dry if kept up for too long.
I kept out of the Section 230 Debacle because, while an ardent Trump supporter, I couldn't bear to see that level of Boomer tech illiteracy from "my side" of the political argument.

By the by, of course people are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face. As the old adage goes, a person can be intelligent, people are dumb animals driven by emotion.

3. The game is fun. If it's not fun, why bother?

Don't sacrifice your own wellbeing to administrate a site that you've come to dread administrating. You've already sacrificed your reputation for this place, don't sacrifice your humanity.
I agree that politics is a cancer on open discourse and enjoyment, but you of all people should know that it is pervasive these days. Kiwi Farms being a beacon of free expression on a sanitized internet is like a magnet to all the pent-up naughty opinions around.
I've come to realize that the clownpill is probably the best stance to have, because everything is so goddamn bleak and dour if you're not a fart sniffing hippie these days.
Laugh at the absurd, even if it is a portent of doom. The Dashcon Commune known as CHAZ is the single funniest thing I've seen in years.

If all else fails, a hiatus and managerial delegation is essential. You already sound burnt out, take care of yourself before you totally lose it.

I for one can't believe running a for autists to obsessively archive our fellow autists isn't the best way to attract women.

Maybe there should be a personals subforum?
It would make the lovequest award more possible tbh. So much autism just waiting to bloom on a personals board. Probably also a nightmarish amount of bullshit for Dear Feeder to deal with related to it, so it's for the best that Kiwi-Harmony isn't a thing.

After reading through this thread, and reflecting on my merciless studies of internet drama, I can only lament this.

This modern, post-gamergate era of the internet is relegated to tiring exercises of Twitter slapfights, Trump coverage, circlejerking en masse, YouTube drama, and hypocrisy. Not good for a site designed to watch it all.

The internet is not Athens, it is Rome.

Why the fuck does a forum need a training program? I hope you realize how stupid that sounds
Sadly, modern internet culture no longer has value in the idea of to "lurk moar". Giving the average social media generation internet user an idea of how to not shit up an online community has a potential benefit. I'm not exactly sure that's the average user on this site, but the amount of pepes, wojaks, and spiels about Israel and it's people I've seen here gives me the idea that there's at least some of that sort of person present.

Well, if you're fed up and want to move on, retiring is not a bad idea. Maybe you can delegate responsibilities to other admins, and move on to other things. Leave the Kiwi Farms in the hands of trusted people who are willing to continue this. And even if I like this board, I can understand being the head of a community like this, for 8 years, can get boring and affect your mental stability. Kinda like a moving car linked to a fence with a chain.

Damn, this is rough. I think Null should do what makes him happy, though it's this site goes away I will miss it dearly because this is one of the last places online where you can be a regular person and talk a little shit on the increasing number of degenerates out there.

I even made some friends since coming here, I lurked for a long time before making my account and I knew about the site long before I started doing that. Kind of wish I had joined sooner. The world is becoming an increasingly restrictive, insane, degenerate, and unfunny place but I can still come here and see the comedy among all the tragedy.

I was quickly drawn to the Beauty Parlor, not really sure why but now it seems gorls are getting scared that this site is going to go away and that kind of scares me as well. Over my life I've seen so many bastions of free speech or just places where people can come and banter or shit post wither and die over the years, but I don't think I have mourned any of them like I would mourn this place.

Do what makes you happy man, just know that what you're doing really is important but there's no shame in giving it up if there is no joy in it. I just hope the community can come together and continue to do what makes us laugh, cry, rage, and sigh in the absence of this place.

If there is anything we can do to help even in the event that the site is going away just ask and I'm sure plenty of people, at least myself would be willing to put forth some effort on behalf of what has given us so much amusement and the man who made it possible.

The biggest problem is that you are alone, null. I have been saying you need a spouse for a while, but you also need offline friends. People are social animals, and online doesn't supply what we need.

Get some admins for the place, get a job if you don't have one, hang out with friends, start dating, and turn this back into a hobby.
