Hey there

I'm a relatively new user, finally reg'd during the height of weebwars. I just have a few thoughts.

First, I seem to remember you enjoying the heck out of building 9chan/IN (maybe on the stream?). The realities of running the site, and your public discussion about it, make it look like you enjoy being either a builder or a pioneer. (Rather than say, being a manager or cat wrangler.) But there's that old adage about pioneers- you can recognize them by the arrows in their back.

Either way, to me, the issue of building a family is at odds with the site. If the site does become profitable, then it likely puts you and your potential family at risk, whether due to censorship, loons, or troons, or goons. There are ways to mitigate this, but you can see the difference in how someone like Lowtax has handled things vs say, Rekieta.

If the site works for a while and then fails, obviously that threatens your future to support a family. And as you have often mentioned, the site has been a black mark for future opportunities outside the farms for you. So there's definitely a logic to moving on.

Last bit is on stability. You've enjoyed travel, but now you need to grow roots. That likely will be a requirement for your family. Idk if something like a Thiel fellowship would apply for you, but it feels like you still have the energy to make something even greater than the Farms. For the community's sake, I hope this site can continue. For your sake, I hope you find something even cooler to build.

Given the state of current politics and the most common responses to it, I don't see a (naturally-occurring) zeitgeist as bad. The only time I would consider "A&H is too ideologically similar" a reasonable criticism is if views contrary to those views were outright banned. As it stands they just get negative ratings, which are worthless.

Except that you can't have a normal fucking conversation on certain topics because of the ironic racists. Any story about a black person doing anything quickly gets drowned in a sea of "lol nigger on a chimpout, fuckin niggers", "send the chimps back to Africa", and "Did you know that (((they))) actually traded most of the slaves, so racism isn't white people's fault". And good God forbid a Jew, or someone with a Jewish-sounding surname, appear in the news.

Seems like the proper solution, if there's really such a hunger for a corner of the internet that champions free speech or simply wants to shit on weirdos on the net in forum form then someone will pick up the tools you'll leave behind and build it.
Its always sad to see a good trip come to an end, but nobody likes riding with a corpse, hope you sort your shit and get into a better position in life Null.
Also speaking from someone whos the same age as you, bitch youre only getting into your 30's we are not even halfway there faggot, don't give up now

That's too fatalistic. Null is having a quarter life crisis it happens. Thing is his baby is Kiwi Farms and he's young still. Look if it's money, just run ads, uh, I can say it-- nigger.

Do what you want. You and others gave us this, you can give others something else too, I'm sure. Even if it's on a smaller, more personally-fulfilling scale. Just do what you want to do. You don't owe us anything.
 
From this site, and because of your advocacy, I learned about civil liberties issues such as CDA 230 and the like. KF has taught me that freedom of speech is downstream from freedom of information. I am in a position where I can advocate in an impactful way for these issues in real life and I try to educate others about the centrality of freedom of information to a free society. I admire your uncompromising (to a much greater extent than the vast majority) defense of these principles deeply.

If nothing else, there is that - thank you

are you serious? you can fucking monetize anything with this amount of eyeballs. Ignorant to say otherwise. Null is cynical I fucking get that. But this shit is for life. The Farms is more than just what he can imagine it right now. he should think bigger than just the hassle of the day to day. it's way more valuable than that. delegate.

Honestly, this website is borderline unsellable. Thanks to autists fucking with Null at every opportunity, it's extremely hard to even generate money to keep the website afloat, let alone find a way to make it profitable. Even if they would be buying it just for the sake of keeping it up instead of making a profit, they would probably be turned off with the sheer amount of work that they would need to invest.

Doesn't help that even if Null does successfully sell the site, his real name is pretty much permanently associated with it now, and removing himself from the site is unfortunately never going to change that.
