the site has evolved and exploded in unprecedented ways. it's not lesser than what it was in 2013.

it has done a big part in the free speech battle on the internet and has documented forever many things that would have been lost or hard to find otherwise. trump having a tantrum on twitter is just that.

What Null was trying to say is that the original intention when he started running this show was to have some fun, and it doesn't feel fun anymore. That's understandable. He's been hassled by assholes trying to deny him funding, put up with all sorts of legal BS, had lunatics threaten his life IRL, and has had his reputation pissed on despite fighting a battle for a cause anyone with integrity should respect. The content itself, as he described, drifted pretty far from his original vision in many ways that just made the above feel even more thankless to put up with.

I know I couldn't take the burden on his shoulders in any capacity, surprised he hasn't collapsed from the weight of it to this point, would rather see Null happy than miserable no matter what he decides to do.

A long time ago my family were legit refugees and we came real close to paying the ultimate price for what we believed in. I have seen people pay that price for what they believe in. I see in you a spark, the real spark of true human being who will not pass by a wrong. I have asked myself that question many times, if it was easier to pass, because it would make my and my family life so much easier, it would changed my life to what seems like better life, but "better" is a hollow construct.

Loosing those is the only thing that you'll regret forever.

Is activism worthwhile? It is. Hopefully not full time. I've done more than most and I don't really regret it. Nothing to show for it, but one thing that's worse than anything is regret and I regret nothing.

I think that tide is turning and hopefully the world would return to the state when free people are not hounded, without start of WWIII when people appreciate their little lives so much more.

I agree with this however because the farms is so diverse and fragmented I am not afraid of it failing, individual boards may fall but I don’t see anything so big that the farms would be destroyed. Yes the culture shifts but you need to understand that there is nothing you could do to stop it, the culture shift here is slow because of your light touch when preforming moderation actions, but time makes fools of us all and the only way you could control the culture is to rule with an iron fist, but then you would still have loyal members leave for what ever reasons. But the culture will always change.

Hell, I might even be part of what you perceive as the "problem" with your website, as I spend my time more in the SJW/TDS/A&H threads than the actual lolcows. All I can say is that your website has irreversibly changed me, perhaps for the better, by exposing the dark underbelly of our institutions and how they seek to crush the common man.

Politics may be what I'm here for, but as others have noted, the creeping of politics on the Farms was inevitable given Trump's election, with every person and outlet looking for some cheap virtue signal, declaring anyone who voted the man in to be worse than Hitler himself and needs to be silenced at all costs. People needed a place to go to express themselves publicly, and it just so happened to be your little coffee shop about weirdos on the internet.

You have sacrificed much as our Supreme Leader. You have stated in the past that your association with this site has irreparably destroyed your reputation. Banks and payment processors cancel your accounts, you can't get a job.
