You've objectively done a lot you can legitimately be proud of: you've provided a space, the only space on the Internet to my knowledge where people like me can voice their discontent on the Silicon Valley-sponsored madness that has troons in particular and the mentally ill in general shoehorned into every aspect of our lives because muh diversity. Of course, this makes you a dangerous nazi scum in the current narrative so you can't openly collect the fruits of your intense labor, but you haven't got nothing to your name my dude, you have the fact that you're one of the precious few who stuck out his neck and refused to bend over before those fucking scumbags.
I don't know anyone else who provides the kind of service you do, let alone for free.
But I understand that if my main reason for being here is so I can rant at that madness 24/7, then I'm part of the userbase that has contributed to turning this website to shit, or at the very least has steered it away from its original purpose.
I think you're right when you say generosity at the cost of your happiness is a mental illness. My honest opinion is that when struggling to find happiness it's important to take the small steps that you can immediately take regardless of how trivial they may seem, because it gives you a feeling of progression towards your goal and that's super important, if only to get the momentum needed to really move forward. Politics is cancer and is killing the site, you say. So fucking nuke the A&H board, and any other board you feel has been overtaken with pol shit. You've honestly given the users enough warnings, and you don't owe us shit. Fucking burn it to cinders, and let the poltards, including myself, go to hell. It's not going to remove all of the political recreational outrage that plagues the site, but you'll be severing one hell of an infected limb. If I can't sperg about the hideous troons I'll just go back to the cows, I don't care.
If you can't or are unwilling to get more moderators, for me the logical solution is to axe all the boards you feel aren't worth being kept, which I hope would reduce your workload.
I also think part of your growing frustration stems from a sizeable portion of the users, especially the newer ones, being ungrateful little shits. Like when the leaks occurred plenty of users here were revealed to be weak pisscucks who panicked at the idea of their identities being disclosed and harassed you so you'd remove the archive of the leaks, before shamelessly fleeing under a rock anyway. This, after you regularly warned your users to use a fucking VPN and to not powerlevel. This, after you made several threads discussing basic cyber security. I was impressed when you actually took the archive down, I know if I had been in your shoes I would have told them all to go fuck themselves.
So really, you've done a shit ton a work and you've been a lot more patient and tolerant than many in your stead would have been. I think you've more than earned the right to be selfish and bring down the hammer on whatever it is that ruins your fun here.
