I'm getting too old for this shit.

With the skills you're gained creating KF and 9chan surely you could land a cushy software development job back in the states? It may require a name change bit it could probably be done. And with the way technology is headed you don't have to be with all the furry trannies in FAANG. Every US city is going to have open positions.

I don't want KF to go away but if you feel like you're fighting a losing battle and want to move on to the next phase of your life I understand completely and wish you the best of luck.

Regardless of where this place goes moving forward, I just want to say thanks before it's possibly too late. I've been a long time lurker since just before the name change from cwcki forums to kiwi farms and this place has provided me with too many hours of entertainment to even count. Reading about the antics of lunatics online has been a lot of fun and helped me get through my own rough patches in life.

I hope Josh can get into a better frame of mind and continue to be our dear leader but if he needs to be rid of this place to feel better, that's fine too. So Semper Fi Josh and the rest of you spergs. It's been a pleasure lurking here and if it's time to pull the plug I will sorely miss it.

I've been a lurker for years before I ever even posted on here, but thanks for being willing to make yourself appear vulnerable in front of everyone.

You've reached a point in your life where you need to make this a complete side "hobby" and make your future a complete focus. You've clearly outgrown this, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to cull it. Perhaps request help from other users willing to undertake the task of helping out.

Thanks for creating an outlet where people can freely express their thoughts. especially considering the terrible politically correct climate the internet and the whole world is in right now.

Your mental health always takes priority above anything else. Go do something you enjoy and take it easy for a while.

Lest we forget that the IF (and in some ways A&H) section of the site became what it did precisely because you, in an effort to grow the size of the forum, involved yourself with it.

Of course the userbase changed. You actively encouraged it to do so with such actions. You welcomed the cancer into the site with open arms in the name of recognition, with monetary gain as the goal. This is perfectly reasonable, but being surprised that the core demographic and behavior of your average user changes because of that is, truly, exceptional. You obviously did this without understanding the consequences.

I've always paid special attention to critical opinions instead of complimentary ones.

This is a good thing to practice but you've clearly overdosed on this mentality. You've become a walking blackpill.

Kill the site. You can't handle it.

There are kiwis here that have no fear of the dox and nothing to lose if they are outed as kiwis. They could be potential admins for you while you take a break. You are too young to be burdened like this. Everything you wrote sounds like a reasonable young person approaching 30 with realistic aspirations and values. There is no reason why you can't have those things. Deligation is your friend. Every overachiever has to learn this sometime, and now it seems like it is your time.

I wish that the farms was a lot less political, but it's almost an inevitability due to how large the farms has grown, as well as the politicization of the internet in general since GG and Trump. Its hard to say what can be done about this. If someone were to decide to attempt to make the Farms less political, its tough because what's classified as too political? Its quite the grey area. Although the Farms is one of the only sites that I enjoy going on. It seems like an island of sensibility (too a certain extent) in a sea of censorship and wrong-think.

Besides that, I think you need to detox yourself from the internet completely. It really helps clear your mind, maybe after you can decide what to do with this site.

I was in a similar spot to Josh and man if I had just given up or moved on from it when I was approaching 30 I'd look back with a lot of regret. You can get angry that the thing you built isn't making you enough money and is causing you too much stress or you can figure out how to make it work. Like don't just end something you've built because reasons. Just my 2 cents. I'm never going to tell someone not to just ride off into the sunset but dude why ride off when you've built something so powerful?

Alternatively, we on this site are all old men tut-tutting about the youths of today like every other generation of old men

Statistics on depression say this is literally the most depressed generation we've recorded.
Seriously, fucking get over yourself lmao

Obviously I've had fun gawking at weirdos or I wouldn't be here at all, but there's a tremendous amount of faggotry in this thread over how grand and noble a place this that I think people need a bit more perspective.
Imagine acting like an elitist over perspectives on a forum. I merely opined that this forum has accomplished some cool shit, and he has no obligation to keep running it. I didn't call it noble or grand.

Seriously, get over yourself. Lmao.

I'm not very experienced in the world as much as I'd like to admit, but I can sympathize with your situation. I've watched some of your streams here are there and I understand why you would feel the way you do. I know I would.

Like many here have said, you should take a break from the internet, experience more of the world outside of house (even with corona-chan at large) and check some boxes on that personal bucket list of yours.

Also:
you're going to find it a lot harder to start a family and find a purpose than to run this website.

Tons of users are here because they couldn't cut it offline. kiwifarms is where we escape, look at the riot thread, the only places people can be anti-riot are here and pol. you shut this down, you're going to be wasting years finding a mate and struggling with jobs.

Instead you could understand that you're a modern day Nader, and that the life of a politcal advocate is like that of Atlas. Lonely, but you keep the people above from destroying us. look at all the stats, that family isn't going to come, the fulfilling career wont either. having said that, you have thousands of fans here, no reason you couldn't play vidya with people from here.
No offense, but you're not helping.

@Null Redirect the Internet Famous board and threads to dedicated boards on 9chan. Most of the posting in a lot of those threads are better suited to imageboard format in the first place. I think one way or another you need to sacrifice a limb to save the the whole. Maybe the same with A&H if you feel the influence or tone of posters there is genuinely too bad, personally I think you just need a dickhead mod or two who is more liberal with giving out warnings and bans for repetitive sperging, but obviously I don't have the same available overview as you do. I know you said you have plans for new management of 9chan, but is this not a solution that might benefit both sites?

At the end of the day though... change is inevitable. It's too late to reverse course on the culture here, but maybe it's possible to channel that change into a direction you would prefer? You've dedicated a lot of your life to this part of the internet and losing you would cause a lot of damage to it, but at the end of the day it IS your life and you deserve to be happy. Best of luck on finding a special someone to share it with.

Reading you I've got a vivid memory of moot's final 4chan Q&A. Same thing basically: a desire to make your own life and to leave aside the issues related to free speech, no longer finding interest in the site and the community.

I really like your youtube videos ;_;
Also, I totally understand on the family thing. When I was young, I despised the idea of having kids, I considered myself too cool for a traditional marriage. In the end, you find out that you aren't an outlier and that you have the same needs as anyone else... and maybe raising a few good kids does as much good as anything else.
