I don't know what's best for you personally or much of what the site was before 2019, but I think that if anything were to happen to you or the site then everyone would be worse off. I think that the internet is flooded with large faceless and morally bankrupt corporations on one side and trannies and grifters on the other. @Null and KF is pillar of trust and dependability in this storm of bullshit. If he was to disappear I don't know what we would replace him with.

Is there anything the users of this site can do to help you, @Null ?

The site's been CPR'd back into life a couple of times since I joined, and a time or two before that when I just lurked, and each major threat to the forum changed the userbase and culture to some degree. It definitely isn't what it used to be. KF at this point is a bit like a guy who died of head trauma and was revived but now he's a bit fucked. There'll never be another site like KF back in the old days simply because the internet has changed. Anybody mildly cranky on social media is a lolcow to somebody and apparently that's interesting to a larger percentage of people than I'd have guessed back when the site was young.
Like dear leader I find myself spending most of my time in the girly threads simply because that's where a few of my still active old favorites now reside and because it proudly carries on the human tradition of gawking and gossiping and people trying to get too philosophical are booed out. I'll miss the munchies and mutant baby mamas if the site goes to its grave. Hopefully, if Null decides it's time to pull the plug on KF, that community moves to its own forum. I do sincerely hope any splinter communities are forums- if there is one thing I goddamn miss it is forums. Reddit's not great for image heavy posts, and you can't read through a discord log to get up to speed on a long history. Whatever happens next, all the best to Null for dealing with this joint and the hassle that comes with it for so long. Been a good time. May its probable offspring not suck massive dick.

TLDR; the KF model was great, there will never be a site quite like it again, but I'll cross my fingers for something sort of similar in case Null kicks this carcass into a ditch.

Have you thought about starting a cult?

I'm sure there are lots of fertile lady Kiwis who would be happy to recieve a test-tube of your man-batter in the post, and you could end up being some grand international patriarch.

After that it's a hop, skip and a jump to a server-farm/milita compound, tax-exempt status for Lolcow LLC, and the numerous other benefits of being a holy man.

A tale as old as time. People are stupid, so when communities get too large they get ruined. Old guard and hosts get disenfranchised and then hand it over to someone else, and then the community becomes a shell of its former self. I don't really know what the solution to this is

I don't get it. This community is pretty on board with making fun of everything. How is this bad.

It's time to grow the fuck up and keep things in the line. We can't live like the new born baby every time. If you want real influence and power, you keep growing through every single struggle.

I think the biggest take away from my post is that I am okay with whatever happens. When I get back from my vacation around July 1st I'm going to try to implement ideas to stabilize the site and architecture its future but I'm fine with it not working. I have an exit strategy ready to go, but it requires a true exit and not some a partial one.

What I'm not going to do is pass along the name or the site as it exists. If the site goes down, it will be available in a downloadable format without user data. My only request is that no one call their copies of the site the "Kiwi Farms", and that users do not patronize any site pretending to be the "Kiwi Farms". I don't even care if it's called "Not Kiwi Farms", but not "Kiwi Farms 2".

Thanks for saving the site in downloadable format. We have a lot of good information here and it would be a shame if it was lost forever. Kiwifarms is a part of internet history.

I think we are almost all the kind of tired that sleep can't fix, and here because there is nowhere better to go on the internet.

Since everything has gone to crap in English speaking online culture, it's nearly impossible to have nice things. Even without worrying about the future freedom of the internet and legal problems, almost everyone these days feel like they have a reason to fight almost everyone else. Not only that, but they think it is their duty to enlighten others. I'm on a small website with less than 50 tight knit users who have known each other for years and even we are having problems with retarded and unfun over-politicization. We used to have playful drama and gossip on there, now everyone wants to beat each other over the head with what they think the meaning of life is. A lot of users on there I used to like, I just can't stand anymore and it's sad.

That was the big epiphany I got to enjoy after Trump threatened Section 230. The sheer number of people I saw who have ardently enjoyed this site as a platform to be pro-Trump on, when few others afford that liberty, suddenly turn against it was shocking. It became abundantly clear that almost every single user who joined in 2019 and 2020 would gladly throw this site and everything I have ever done under the bus if it meant ‘getting back’ at Silicon Valley. If they got to call Obama a nigger on Twitter, it would be worth it to them.

Ok this is getting fucking annoying. There was absolutely no conversation about this on the site, and I know because I tried to start one multiple times. As far as the appeal 230 topic is concerned, you either think it's a terrible thing, and don't talk about it, or you think it is a great thing and don't talk about it. This is a fucking retarded way to behave, especially since the topic is fucking speech. The principle of free speech is utterly fucking worthless if nobody uses it to talk to each other.

As for those of us who think, based on Trump's history and the arc of free speech on the internet, that this probably won't be the end of the internet and might even help free speech being willing to throw this site under the bus to own da libs, fuck you. Seriously, this is fucking disgusting. 'a bunch of people disagree with my stance therefore they must be evil' should be the one stance a die hard free speech advocate never even considers, except maybe as a thought experiment. You should know better.
