[Important] Catbox Needs Your Help - Local Archive of blogpost

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Pretty much every file sharing site is being used for such purposes, whether or not the owners and/or users are aware of it. It started that way with BBS, and it will continue this way until the heat death of the universe.
What would be your red line before you'd stop supporting such a site? if there is one.

All I said was OP should mention what that site is mainly used for before asking for donations. Which is porn. and I got bunch of bitches like you here crying.
you didn't actually say that, you phrased it like a little bitch at first

Is there an alternative based anon filesharing service you wanna plug (that presumably you financially support so they aren't reliant on loli enthusiasts to exist)

Otherwise make a debate thread. And set your profile settings to public you pussyhole

This site hosts leaked OnlyFans stuff and also content that could legally be considered revenge pornography.

Why are you posting on such a horrible despicable site? Are you a hypocrite?

This is like saying Pornhub is a just a video platform just because they won't delete your Minecraft let's play.

You are desperate aren't you?
Please link us a pornhub minecraft let's play right now, the kind that doesn't actually have any porn in it. If you can't do that, then I don't even see why you're still in this thread, you already got your L.
So not only is payment processing or advertising needing to be "brand safe" but also just the simple act of donating money to someone.
These companies don't care about brand safety or being politically correct or whatever bullshit excuse they use. They're throwing around their power to shut down anyone they don't like or could be potential competition in the future, simple as that.

Do you even know what a nightmare it would be to "make sure" that no lolicon is being posted on your anon file sharing host? The CSAM is being found through hashes and reports, and a lot slips through the cracks... ALL filesharing hosts are used to trade CSAM, and it requires all of your resources to make sure you even get 70% of it. Banning any other legal content would be a drain on those resources, and it would allow more CSAM to stay up on your file sharing platform due to being stretched thin, like too little butter on too much bread.

The red line for me would be a host who "disallows" lolicon or "disallows" racist content, or any other legal content, because this kind of unenforceable rule based solely on personal distaste would make me realize the host is a retard and doesn't know what he is doing. If it's legal, it stays up.

Another red line would be a host that claims not to, or doesn't delete obviously illegal material when notified. Either their provider will nuke their shit or they'll have a visit from the local police before too long.

Catbox is up to 935/1300 already so it looks like they're going to be fine.

Ultimately this will make them more robust, as long as stripe doesn't rugpull. Ha, imagine that happening to a website - perish the thought.

I know catbox has had problems in the recent past with an inability to get rid of illegal shit hosted on their servers and were really bad about responding to reports about it, to the point where the guys who run cytube -who some of you would recognize as home to the Kiwi Movie Night- just disabled the ability to link to catbox for awhile.

Using illegal shit to attack any website that allows uploads is one of the most basic bitch threat vectors on the Internet. Can't say I'm surprised it got them in trouble with the faggot ass payment processors, only surprised it took this long for it to happen. Catbox is really useful, so I'm hopeful they get their funding, and hopefully they have gotten better at removing illegal shit.

For this month. One-time donations aren't as good as recurring paypigs.

A lot of the more degenerate places have switched to Subscribestar instead of Patreon and Ko-fi. They seem to be more permissive about what's hosted, so long as it's not actually illegal.

I am glad this happened. I hope more and more debanking happens so people realize it isn't just a "NAHTZEE" issue.

I agree partially, but you have to keep in mind that those who frame such services as something bad, will always choose the worst possible framing for something. Just because they're not considered a Nazi website, doesn't mean they can't attach some other social taboo to it, so people think the service is something bad, and by extend the freedom the service gives is something bad.
