What was the point of no return for Chris having a normal life?
Barb's the anchor tied around his leg. This will be the most optimistic post of all time, but he can still make it. He was born into a maelstrom of fail but he can still make it. He's got psychological problems but he's not brain dead. He has four (mostly) working limbs. He has access to the Internet, meaning he can see what's out there. He doesn't have a substance abuse problem. It would be painful but he could still make it if he really devoted himself to it.
Buuuuuuuut...he probably won't.![]()
i would definitely hesitate to call him happyThe tug is the only thing enabling Fatty to survive in his current manner. That's why I've always been a big propent for him losing the tug. Sitting around all day every day is what is killing him, he's got no reason to change anything, he's as happy as a pig in shit.

It was when he got the tug-boat.
It removed from him any reason to mature.
Why get a job when you can sit on your ass all day?
Why try to better yourself when you can sit on your ass all day.
Why shower when...well I'm sure you get the idea.

I do believe that if he had no other choice Fatty could work at a job and keep it. He would learn how to co-exist with other people. and hopefull lose his ego as he builds life experiences. Hell he might even end up happy. Sure he'd get fired a few times but he can learn and I think in the end a simple job would give him something to cling too.
Idleness is poison for the soul.
