I read on Twitter a while ago that he's hiding in Canada while his wealthy lawyer father tries to negotiate a deal on his behalf.

Apparently, there is evidence that the FBI is protecting certain individuals that were encouraging to storm the capital? Apparently, some boomer dude named Ray Epps, probably not the real name, was going around trying to get groups of protestors to storm the capital. Allegedly, there are maybe four or five of these people working together to people to storm the capital. There are a multitude of videos linked in the article and I have yet to find an elegant solution to archive Rumble videos aside from just OBS screen recording them.

The real damning part of this isn't that there were some agent provocateurs in the crowd, it's that the FBI isn't even trying to pretend that they are wanting to investigate these specific individuals. I mean, they literally have pictures of grandmothers asking the public's help to identify, but they are explicitly ignoring these dudes. It shows how totally corrupt our government agencies are.

I don't see the FBI as anything more or less than what the KGB was during the Soviet Union.

Ray Epps is a long term asset, they won't bust him. He showed up at the Bundy standoff back in 2013 and tried the same stunt only for old man Bundy to kick his ass off the reservation for being a radical, same with some other married duo who went on to get into a shootout with police in a different state. Ray Epps goes to conflict points and stirs up shit trying to stampede people into violence. The opposite tact is used with leftist organizations, they send in people who break organizations up by introducing the diversity stack and other bullshit to fracture the membership.
