“MASKS DONT HELP” essentially boils down to a belief that if something is not 100% effective at doing the thing then it’s useless.
Masks don’t stop the virus 100% of the time so they don’t help, clearly. Even though it’s proven through basic fucking common sense that given that the virus is contained in moisture droplets in your breath, if you catch most of the droplets coming out of your body, you reduce the chances of the virus being inhaled by other people around you.
But it doesn’t completely stop it, so clearly it’s useless.
So I propose a new way of doing things to cater to these people: Theres no way to guarantee a nuclear plant won’t melt down, so let’s stop with all safety protocols. There’s no way to guarantee a car crash won’t kill you, so get rid of speed limits and seat belts. There’s no way to guarantee that your CPU won’t overheat, so leave the CPU exposed to open air and get rid of your computers cooling system. There’s no way to guarantee that a bullet won’t penetrate body armor, so let’s have all our Troops in to battle naked.
After all, if safety measures don’t work 100% of the time, they clearly don’t help at all, and we shouldn’t even bother.
