The Woodgrain finish should be a standard choice instead of a limited edition. Anyone interested in this machine is old enough to remember the original and will most likely want their Amico to look like the original.

They sure as hell won't want neon purple.

But they are trying to sell this to families as a hip new product instead of old school Intellivision fans. Don't quite think that's gonna work out the way they envision it.

We don't need another Ouya with gimmick controllers.

The remade games look cool for the most part, AD&D Cloudy Mountain looks like it has expanded gameplay. But it would be nice if they included the original versions too.

Imagine the game Microsurgeon with 2021 graphics. I see a wasted opportunity here for not getting the rights to that game from Imagic.

I remembered hearing about that being remade a while back so I went looking for it and according to an old press release It's happening, along with a Toejam and Earl remake (?!) unless things have radically changed since then.

  • Imagic Classics REIMAGINED and REMADE EXCLUSIVELY for the Intellivision Amico™: Microsurgeon™, Atlantis™, Demon Attack™, Dracula™, Beauty and the Beast™, Ice Trek™, Swords & Serpents™, Dragonfire™, Truckin'™ AND MORE!

The specs are somehow worse than the upcoming Atari VCS (not to be confused with what the Atari 2600 was originally called), which at least has specs that resemble a low-end gaming setup. Here, the Amico is basically a glorified Android TV system, down to its unspecified Snapdragon processor and 2 GB RAM (not upgradeable), and digital only nature. It's also notably more expensive than the VCS; The cheapest VCS costs $199, while the cheapest Amico will cost $249.
A Snapdragon and two measly gigs of RAM? What is this, 2014?

I literally laughed like a hyena when I read those specs. For comparison's sake, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have 16GB of RAM. And for only $150 more than the cheapest Amico, you can build a PC that's good for retro emulation (and a bit of light gaming on the side, too).

TL;DR: Tommy Tallarico is an amazing composer, but a wack-ass motherfucker at everything else, it seems.

That doesn't mesh with it being called an exclusive remake though since BitG is on everything and was planned to be from the start.

I just want to believe TJ&E could be good again. BitG might be getting there, slowly, but it's still nowhere near as good or as difficult as the original.

I dunno dude, they're rating the difficulty 7 or 8 out of 10 for BITG in a Completionist run on many sites that do full guides. You need to beat the game 20-30 times in assorted manners.

I would think fans of the original would love to play the original games. Remakes might not hit the nostalgia nerve the same way for some.

Tommy Tallarico, the brainchild of this abortion, recently showed off gameplay footage of Finnigan Fox, an Intellivision® Amico™ exclusive game. They took a pixel art platformer that came out in 2018 called FOX n FORESTS and reskinned it to look like a shitty mobile game.

During the demo, they cut back to Tommy playing for a few seconds and people noticed that his left/right button presses didn't match how the character was moving on screen. Did he mime playing pre-recorded gameplay? That would be pretty damning, especially after the Coleco Chameleon scam that was literally an SNES in an Atari Jaguar shell and then a PCI capture card in a Atari Jaguar shell.

The official answer from Tommy is that he was trolling a couple internet bullies and racists by playing with inverted controls. He was only pretending the gyroscope in the controller didn't work in a video on the official Intellivision Amico YouTube channel to own the haters. The console was supposed to come out in Oct 2020, then April 2021, and was delayed to Fall 2021 in a press release that came out today.
