Inner sea unless people have a strong desire to set it somewhere else.

@Surtur I count only 5 weird points spent on your sheet (on skills), could you give me a rundown of what you spent yours on? Otherwise looks good.

I spent them all on skills

Awesome. That actually works out really well for me since I'm trying to see how "pure skill" builds balance vs. weirdness.

This seems like a good place to point out that, since this is a playtest, some rules are subject to change. This will mostly be tweaking numbers up and down, nothing major, but I want to make it clear now so there are no hurt feelings later. Granted this isn't a group that is likely going to get worked out about numbers, but I still feel like I should make it clear.

Is there still time for me to join up? I would like to be the ultimate wrestler man.

I just saw this thread and am interested in what is going on inside it as well. If I could make a dude he would be a missionary priest of a Cowboy God who kills for our sins.

Always room for more, I'll PM you guys the document.

Edit: I might split you into two groups depending on how the characters come out (if some people are obviously more compatible) or if I get a huge overload of people. I'll have you all inhabit the same "instance" of the universe, though, and we can have special crossover episodes where half the people on both sides get gruesomely murdered or something.

Does anyone know a good stable file upload site? Every time I find a nice one it disappears or flakes out on me right when I need it.

I usually use Dropbox both for personal and professional use. If space is a problem, I have a shitload of it on my account and could host for a little while.

Question: can you buy enchantments at creation with weird points? Considering that MP is "receiving the worship of people" it makes sense that my armor would have soaked up that kind of energy. If so, I'll drop my possession power to buy an enchantment on my armor.

Anyway, I made my guy. When I looked at the map, well... I realized what I needed to do.

BIOGRAPHY
Father Bartholomew was once a member of the Golden Convoy: a mechanic named Doog who provided mechanical repairs and scrimped and saved to buy a Coyote so that people would think he was cool. He had no greater aspiration, content to travel the great cities of the Inner Sea, see the world and be safe under the protection of the Convoy. A trip west to Green Bay changed everything.

In need of some spare parts for a repair, he traveled to the Land of Cars, a great massing of vehicles from before the fall near the border of the Oneida lands. Locals warned him not to step into the ruins that the cars surrounded, saying they were protected by the spirits of great warriors from the before-time, but Doog was a practical man who did not believe in superstition and, not finding what he was looking for among the cars, entered the great pile of rubble. He saw that the ruins were roamed by terrifying monsters, great beasts that lurked around seeking prey. He attempted to avoid them and continue his search, coming upon a pre-war rifle in fairly good condition. It wasn't what he came for, but it was a whole lot more valuable than some pipes. Doog felt fortune smiling upon him, but one false step later and he went plummeting into a hole in the ground. When he returned to consciousness, he found himself in an underground monastery tended by a group of monks in green robes and strange triangular hats.

This place, they told Doog, was a shrine to the old heroes of Green Bay. They were normal people who worked at the docks, packing goods for shipment, but when enemies from other cities would unleash monsters like bears or lions, or a band of viking raiders would come to shore, they would don the armor they stored here, marked with the Holy G, and march onto the Iron Grid, the fortress that once sat above them, to protect the city from these threats. Doog thought this sounded an awful lot like the Guardians of Green Bay so he supposed it made sense.

These men wanted to get out and tell people about their findings, but they dared not admit to breaking the taboo of entering this place and so they remained sequestered away. Taking in the situation, he leaned up against a nearby wall, inadvertently putting his hand against one of the relics still preserved there. His gift of psychometry chose that moment to manifest and he entered what the monks nearby would later call "The Trance."

"Fourth and one," he said, the words coming from his mouth. "Goal line sneak. Did he? Yes. He made it. Green Bay is the world champion. Green Bay has won the Ice Bowl." He continued to say things he did not fully understand, words and phrases he had never heard before coming from his mouth as the monks frantically scribbled it down. When the words finally stopped coming, they all looked to him with an expression of awe.

"You must be the one! They said he would return to Green Bay one day, and now he has!" The lead monk, Brother Roger, said. Brother Roger led him to another room where a large painting covered the back wall.

"This is he, and he is you! You are the one chosen to lead the Church out into the world!" Roger said. Doog was unsure; he'd never really given a shit about things before. But seeing these people look at him with such admiration made him feel a feeling, and certainly that thing that had happened to him meant that he was involved somehow. So he left behind Doog and the Golden Convoy and took the name of an ancient hero, Bartholomew. They named him Father and pleaded him with to go out and gather artifacts that he could use the Gift on, so they might know more about these ancient heroes. Each time he found a new item, he made sure not to touch it directly until he came back to his home at the Monastery, where his vision could be recorded. In his travels, he found many who were receptive of his message, travelling with him for a time and then leaving to spread the word elsewhere. Some even went back to the Monastery, where they tended the many findings that Father Bart had uncovered.

In his last vision, Bart finally discovered the places where the Great Enemies came from. He had names of three cities -- Chicago, Detroit and Minnesota -- but knew of only one. The Ruins of Detroit, he realized, were ruined in a counterattack by Green Bay, who had finally been fed up with their shit. Climbing aboard the motorcycle that had once been his only goal but was now a means of conveyance, he began to head to Detroit to seek answers about these other mysterious places...

Yeah unfortunately my drop box is at capacity with work stuff.

Not yet, but let me get back to you in a bit.

Bartholomew looks sweet.

Got some last minute tweaks still being done to characters, but I should be able to throw something up shortly.

Do you guys see yourselves as the leaders of a community, or as a group of traveling weirdos have-gun-mutations-will-travel?

i think since a couple of us are already strongly affiliated with an existing group we're more of a short-term alliance.

The World Warrior Federation is a tribe of warriors dedicated to the art of wrestling. There is no greater honor than fighting in the squared circle for the admiration of the masses. The art of the fight is as important as the fight itself and thus the performance was power bombed into existence. From the ruins of a stadium and a collection of old VHS tapes the WWF was founded by Vince McMan. He assembled the mightiest warriors and trained them in the art of wrestling and they took to traveling to display their martial prowess to other tribes in exchange for food and shelter. Their caravan of monster trucks tore across the land entertaining children of all ages. Rex Dynamite Havoc was one such child.
Born to a small family of farmers he ran away from his boring existence to join the great collection of warriors. McMan recognized in him a burning passion of wrestling and adopted him into the tribe. He excelled at the techniques they employed and seemed to be beefier and more memorable than the rest. The shamans came to the conclusion that he must be the reincarnation of the great wrestlers of the golden age. Rex would go on to be undefeated at the great tournament of Warriormania for several years before he was forced into retirement because McMan wanted to push a new wrestler to a younger generation who couldn't appreciate the fine nuances of the art. Rex no longer bound by the WWF decided to travel the land on his quest to become the ultimate Superstar.

Okay, I just realized that I messed up assigning my stats.
Hey, I think I got my character. At least one of them:
Name ; Juggy-T
Tribe ; The Juggalos
Profession ; Psychopathic clown-warrior

STATS ;
Strength ; 3
Agility ; 4
Endurance ; 4
Perception ; 1
Reason ; 1
Instinct ; 3
Willpower ; 1
Charisma ; 1

HP 7
EP: 2

SKILLS ;
Pilot Car: 2
Scrounging: 2
Firearms: 3
Lost Knowledge: ICP
Knowledge: Juggalos
Melee: 3
Presence: 3
Dodge: 2

EQUIPMENT ;
Bowie Knife
Hatchet
"The Fucking Magnets". Imagine a concrete saw, only it has several powerful electromagnets contained in a three pronged blade. When activated, a ferrofluid based liquid \M/ETAL (strengthened through some magtek) forms a sawblade, which is reinforced by the three solid "Prong Blades".
A Buick Regal, heavily restored and modified into a four wheel drive off roader. Has the remains of an ugly grey paint job, covered in rust, blood, bullet holes, and Juggalo art. Oh, and severed heads attached to the front bumper.
20 Gallons of Bio-diesel.
Sports equipment armor, decorated with the traditional outfit of the juggalos.
"Clown Shooturh", a crude 9mm semi-auto pistol made from the remains of a Glock 18 and scrap \M/ETAL. Basically a Flintlock pistol with a 5 payload, only with a penalty to damage and prone to misfiring. Uses cartridge ammo, which is more expensive than ball and powder (3 bucks per shot). Note: I'm contradicting the game book here, let me know if it's all right)
Backpack
A few days of food and water
10 units of Faygo (the traditional drink of the Juggalo tribe. Made from whatever fermentable material's lying around and the blood of those sacrificed to the Dark Carnival).
BIOGRAPHY
Located outside of Detroit, the Juggalos are considered odd by the other crazed raider tribes, and batshit insane to everyone else. Worshiping the prophets/deities they call Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, and The Hatchet Man, the Juggalos follow a "Holy Book" pieced together from old music records. They base themselves out of the "Dark Carnival", a Pre-Fall amusement park that they power off the the Dark Energy reactors of several gutted suits of Power Armor. Juggalo society is chaotic, with most of the day spend scavenging, listening to the Holy Records, getting wasted, working, getting high, and fighting. One of the key elements of Juggalo religion is the Dark Carnival itself, which the Juggalos believe requires human sacrifice. As such, the Juggalos frequently go out into the wastes to acquire sacrifices, specifically targeting slavers, rapists, raiders, and others they deem "motherfukas". ferocious in combat, Juggalos usually attempt to take their victims alive, so they can sacrifice them with carnival themed torture equipment. Juggalos believe that those who acquire a large number of sacrifices or contribute to the ways of the Juggalo will be sent to "The Gathering", a warriors heaven filled with Faygo, meth, and the Holy Posse.
Some Juggalos, such as Juggy-T, set out by themselves to explore the wastes, search for more of The Teachings, and slaughter the Motherfuckas.

Juggy-T is a 22 year old Juggalo who's set out into the wastes to acquire sacrifices, dispense good and justice and Faygo, and try a variety of exotic drugs.
Also, spending my remaining weird points on the Healing Factor mutation.

1. I love the travelling group of Wrestlemans.
2. I feel like the name "Ho Kogan" should come up somewhere.

I love the wrestling nomad gang idea, so maybe all the characters are traveling with them for whatever reason (maybe just for safety in numbers until you reach the next point of civilization) and then stuff happens.

Edit: Thinking it over more, I think I'll work it where all the PCs start off at a wrestling event of some kind. You can be participating as a wrestler, an audience member, an investor (maybe wrestling's dark secret is it's funded by a shadowy but adorable cabal of dog necromancers), maybe the event is in Rawlestown and Mel Gibson owns the venue (would Mel Gibson like pro wrestling?). Anyway everyone just needs to justify their brief presence at said event and I can take it from there.

Bart is there following the legend of the God of Thunder, who he has learned was also a pro wrestling referee.

He does not fully understand the nature of these mysterious stripe-clad figures and has come to them for assistance, as they are something that they have in common.

Maybe you've come to exchange wisdom with the Priests of Kayfabe, traveling with them for a short while so you can speak of pre-fall secrets. Perhaps you worship the same gods without realizing it?

Okay so the group as it stands is:

Mostly Finished:

Mel Gibson, Hollywood Superstar and don't ask so many questions.
Juggy-T, Down with the Clown up-fucker of shit
M36-D4NK80T, The Dank Bot
Nox, Pembroke Welsh Corgi/Necromancer
Ulfberht Tyrshand, Crazy Barbarian
Father Bartholomew, Priest of the Cheeseheads
Rex Dynamite Havoc, Professional Wrestler

Still waiting on:

Novislav Djajic (who I need stats for that are compatible with the rules I sent out)

So I'll start with everyone in one big mob but it's a huge group and so if you end up splitting up into smaller units as things evolve organically that's fine.

I know everyone isn't finished everything but I might start the game tonight or tomorrow. As long as you have an image of your character in your head you should be able to wing it, and forum games go slowly enough that by the time stats become an issue everyone should be settled. The wrestling idea has me inspired and I want to write a first post before I lose that enthusiastic energy.
