It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Some real food for thought here. You've seen my various observations about China's problems, and this seems to follow right along.

You see it in the maps. In 2015, 1.4 million Hong Kongers voted in elections in which pro-Beijing candidates swept the city's 18 district councils. Last week, 2.9 million Hong Kongers voted and pro-democracy candidates won every district but one. That is an increase in turnout of more than 100 percent and a stunning rebuke both of Beijing and of chief executive Carrie Lam, who has failed to respond adequately to the demands of the pro-democracy movement that has disrupted Hong Kong for the past six months. Maps of the city once shaded pro-mainland blue are now pro-liberty yellow.

Yes, the vote was symbolic. The councils have little say in the operations of government. But symbols matter. For Hong Kongers to express discontent with their rulers through one of the last vehicles for accountability is no trifle. Beijing was surprised. It had counted on a supposed "silent majority" of voters tired of the upheaval and violence to legitimize the mainland's authority. That was a mistake. The prefabricated copy that Communist propagandists had been ready to spread was abandoned. "The problem is that under the increasingly paranoid regime of Xi Jinping, even these internal reports have become much more geared toward what the leadership wants to hear," writes James Palmer, who a decade ago worked for the pro-China Global Times.

Hong Kong is the most visible reminder of the tenuous nature of Communist rule. The city has become a postmodern battleground where masked protesters wield social media and lasers to avoid armor-clad police and facial recognition technology powered by artificial intelligence. When one looks at Hong Kong one sees a possible future where champions of freedom the world over employ desperate measures against the overwhelming resources of a mechanized Leviathan. One also sees the brittleness, confusion, and embarrassment of despotism when challenged by subjects assumed to be grateful for growth and security and immune to the will to freedom.

What is happening in Hong Kong is not isolated. The China model of authoritarian development is damaged and scarred. What seemed as sturdy and invulnerable as a Borg Cube looks more like a fragile and wobbly mobile by Alexander Calder. The regime of Xi Jinping is under economic and political and diplomatic pressure that it is not handling well. This beleaguered combatant in an era of great power competition is more dangerous to the United States than before.

What legitimacy the Communist Party possessed was based on the decades of economic growth inaugurated by Deng Xiaoping in 1978. But growth has slowed to its lowest level in decades as the Chinese workforce ages, low-hanging investment opportunities disappear, and the trade war with the United States reduces manufacturing output and sends supply lines to Vietnam and Mexico. Capital is fleeing China at a record pace as the bourgeoisie hedge against stagnation and turmoil.

For all of the Chinese government's much publicized investments in research and development and defense, and despite the size of its economy, per capita gross domestic product is $10,000, slightly less than that of the Russia Federation ($11,000) and a fraction of that of the United States ($65,000). Recent weeks have brought an uptick in bank runs. The government's response to slowdown has been to tighten state control. "Between 2012 and 2018, assets of state companies grew at more than 15 percent annually, well over twice the pace of expansion of China's GDP and double the pace of growth of gross domestic capital formation," writes Nicholas R. Lardy of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. This is not state capitalism. It's statism.

The Chinese authorities use mechanisms of repression to maintain control over what can only be described as an internal empire. The New York Times recently published a horrifying and damning trove of documents relating the extent of Beijing's efforts to detain, imprison, intimidate, and reeducate Uighurs, Kazakhs, and other minorities in western Xinjiang Province. China wants to override the Dalai Lama's choice of successor in its continuing efforts to police Tibetan Buddhism and aspirations to sovereignty. China leads the world in the number of political prisoners, its Great Firewall has become more difficult to penetrate, and its influence operations in Taiwan, Australia, and other democracies more sophisticated. Defector Wang Liqiang has told Australian officials of his personal involvement in the disappearance of five Hong Kong booksellers who had the temerity to advocate democracy.

These are not the moves of a regime confident in its ability to win the allegiance of a multi-ethnic population of 1.4 billion people. They are the policies of an insular and jittery faction whose uncertainty toward a changing economic and demographic landscape has made it suspicious of and opposed to even the slightest hints of liberal democracy. The ambitions of Chairman Xi for a Eurasia integrated under the Belt and Road Initiative, where the preponderance of the latest equipment in key sectors is manufactured, are both grand and mismatched for a nation whose leaders are concerned most with the operation of the surveillance state that keeps them in power.

The resistance to Beijing is both domestic and foreign. Lost in all the predictions of Chinese dominance were the voices of China's neighbors in the Pacific. Neither Japan, nor Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, nor Australia want to live in a Chinese lake. Most extraordinary has been the response of the United States. Within four years, the American elite has swapped its belief in China's "peaceful rise" for the recognition that it may be in the opening phase of a Second Cold War whose outcome will determine the ideological character of the 21st century. While Tariff Man wages his trade war, opposing Chinese theft of intellectual property and arguing for structural changes to China's state owned enterprises, Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper speak of the political and security challenges presented by Chinese authoritarians who become more willing to lash out as they lose their grip.

Senator Josh Hawley spoke for the emerging consensus when he wrote in the November 24 Wall Street Journal: "And everywhere, in every region, we must ask whether our actions are contributing to the great task of this era, resisting hegemony in the Asia-Pacific." A few days before Hawley's op-ed, Congress passed the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019. Though the president already may possess the authorities to sanction Chinese officials granted him by Congress, the bill remains both a powerful statement of American support for the principles of liberty and democracy and a sign of American resolution before the specter of autocracy.
Good for President Trump to have signed the Democracy Act—and better still if he would link human rights to trade and refrain from speaking of his "friend," the "incredible guy" who seeks nothing less than the defeat and displacement of the United States.
So is this guy pro-Chicom over plastic crap from Walmart; or anti-Chicom over the fact the country is an oppressive shithole and that "Tariff Man" apparently is such an idiot, his policies are working to reveal what people have warned about for years but ignored over plastic crap?

The real thing that largely robbed the "children of their future" was as his first act as President Obama Nationalized the Student Loan Industry and guaranteed no questions asked Tuition Loans to anyone, regardless of financial means or ability to repay. In order to insure that the money would be collected he made these Federally Backed Loans for Morons Non Dischargable in Bankruptcy, and then started handing them out to the complete financial illiterates being pumped out of the failing liberal controlled public schools. This was a purely Socialist Policy. The prior free market College Lending System had some points of evaluation that largely prevented the Morons from borrowing more money than they could ever hope to pay back. Instead we got a parade of Masters Degree Candidates in Feminist Ethno Basketweaving, who can't understand that they would never ever be able to pay back $400k in debt working at the Lesbian Bookstore part time.

Rome had the right idea putting them on the same social strata as whores.

The classical approach to actors, for most of Human History, was that they had to be outside the City Gates by Sunset for fear they would molest the chickens. This was a good well reasoned policy and civilization went to shit when they stopped enforcing it.

Fun fact: the worst ecological disasters were commited by communist countries. Chernobyl, Aral Sea, Four Pests, Yellow River, and of course the inumerable famines that seem to follow communism like ducklings.

But never mind that. Capitalism in America is the biggest threat to the planet. Not an unaccountable imperial cult.
No but you see, collectivism will work better on the West because of our commitment to individual liberty and objective science.

Despite the fact that the most vocal proponents of western socialism are trying to abolish both of those things as fast as possible.

But for real, Socialists in America are unironically racist. They see white supremacy under every rock then turn around and have the hubris to assume that they can pull off communism better than the Asians.

This is absolute nonsense. Student loans have been nondischargeable in bankruptcy since as long as I can remember, apparently in 1976, with subsequent laws making them even more nondischargeable up until 2005. This is not anything new at all. And guaranteed student loans have existed since 1965.

I'll give you the Bankruptcy element. I never really looked that deep into it back then. But most of the damage came when Obama Nationalized the Loan system. Prior to that defaults were relatively rare as the loans were matched up to both the students ability to pay, the families ability to pay, and the estimated earning potential of the student post graduation. Loans were not a guarantee. And you could not over borrow. The new Obama system bundled in over borrowing as a feature. "We'll approve anything" and the Universities tripped the tuition rates and went on a massive building spree.

Sony's PlayStation marks 25th anniversary

Sony's flagship home video game console, the PlayStation, marked its 25th anniversary on Tuesday.

The first PlayStation was released on December 3, 1994. The latest version, PlayStation 4, is sold in more than 120 countries and territories.

At a ceremony in Tokyo on Tuesday, Sony officials said more than 450 million consoles of the PlayStation series have been sold so far.

They added that the Guinness World Records recognized the series as the best-selling home video game console of all time.

Former Sony executive Ken Kutaragi, who is called the father of the PlayStation, said he wants to express thanks to users around the world for enjoying games on the consoles for so long. He said he'll be looking forward to further PlayStation achievements.

Sony plans to start selling the PlayStation 5, the first new model to be released in about seven years, during the year-end shopping period next year.

Last month, Google launched a cloud gaming service that does not require consoles.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan referred to Google's move by saying newcomers are welcome, as they liven up the industry. He said the PlayStation is loved by people all over the world, and that there is no doubt about the importance of hardware.

A fraudster led illegal immigrants through the fake border of Russia and Finland for a large reward

In the Leningrad region [TN: correct], illegal immigrants fell for the trick of a fraudster. According to the FSB border department of Russia, four foreigners hired a man who volunteered to transfer them across the Russian-Finnish border for a fee. The guide gave them a difficult march and led them to the fake border posts, which he himself had installed a little earlier.

The FSB said that four South Asian immigrants found an assistant for the illegal border crossing on the Internet. A CIS citizen [TN: correct] responded to their offer. The guide was promised an advance, after which he was supposed to escort a group of potential migrants to the state border, where the remaining money was supposed to be paid - more than 10 thousand euros.

A man who called himself a guide decided to get the money without actually providing any services. Before setting out with his clients, he installed fake border posts that marked the fake border between Russia and Finland in a forest.

“The very fact that the unlucky migrants were brought to the aforementioned improvised place to which they were so eager to get added drama in this story. The path from the Northern capital [TN: St. Petersburg, not actually the capital] first ran along public roads, then along country roads, then a short forced march around one of the picturesque lakes in the Vyborg region and, at the final stage, a hike to the destination in the forest thicket,” the border department said.

The department added that "the incredible adventures of foreigners in the night silence of Vyborg forests ended with a decision of the Vyborg District Court." Four illegal immigrants were fined and forcibly deported from the Russian Federation.

A criminal case under a fraud article may be instituted against their guide.

The Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reminded that violation of the state border is a criminal offense punishable by a maximum of two years in prison.

A father has been cleared of causing death by dangerous driving after killing a man who was being abusive to children. Scott Hamshire, 39, got a call from his son to say that there was a man running around their estate in Rainham, Essex, who was also being threatening. The man, later identified as Andrew Huston, 54, smelled of alcohol, was staggering and had slurred speech. One witness told him to ‘go home and put the kettle on’. But when Mr Hamshire arrived and tried to speak to him, Mr Huston punched him in the face through the open window of his Vauxhall Astra. He then jumped on the bonnet and started punching the windscreen before climbing onto the roof.

Mr Hamshire started driving with Mr Huston still on the roof before hittingthe brakes. Prosecutor Max Hardy: ‘(Witness) Keith Hinton saw the car come to an abrupt stop and the man on the roof was catapulted off the roof, slammed the bonnet, landed on the road and slid along the road before coming to a stop against the reversing car with some force.’ Mr Huston died as a result of a head injury but Mr Hamshire drove off in a panic. He was cleared at the Old Bailey yesterday after the jury heard that he did not intend to kill Mr Huston and he only went to the scene to speak to him. As the jury returned a not guilty verdict, Mr Huston’s family wailed and left the court in tears. Meanwhile, Mr Hamshire breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at his family as he was told he could leave the dock.

PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (KFOR) – An Oklahoma couple who was charged with crimes related to child abuse will spend the rest of their lives in prison.

The investigation began when an agent with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office received two cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that were reported by Facebook.

“They were seeing activity on the internet that suggested there was a minor being exploited,” Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter said. “The investigation discloses that the crimes that involve the minor child are incredibly distressing.”

Investigators generated over 6,000 pages of communication between the co-defendants and tens of thousands of photos and videos.

Authorities determined that underage victims were beaten, handcuffed and raped. Officials also say there was a plan to commit incest with an unborn child.

Investigators arrested and charged 25-year-old Gerrad Coddington and 30-year-old Christina Nelson-Coddington with 29 counts relating to child abuse including first-degree rape, incest, child abuse, manufacturing child pornography, and lewd acts with a minor.

A Garvin County judge recently sentenced the couple to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

“These two individuals engaged in horrifying acts of abuse and violence with innocent children,” Attorney General Hunter said. “These are evil people who presented a danger to society. I commend Judge Edwards’ decision to hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law. I applaud the investigators with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the investigator in my office with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the attorneys who worked on this case to achieve a successful result.”

Josh Brolin Tries ‘Perineum Sunning’ And Burns His ‘Pucker Hole’
The “Avengers: Endgame” star said the pain was so bad he had to spend the day icing and using aloe and burn creams on his perineum instead of hanging with his family.

Actor Josh Brolin has a message for today’s youth: Tanning your taint isn’t a good idea.

The actor learned that hard lesson a few days ago after he engaged in “perineum sunning,” a new trend in which people expose the area between the anus and the sex organs to the sun, according to the New York Post.

One practitioner, who calls herself Metaphysical Meagan, claims that perineum sunning can regulate hormones as well as sleep patterns.

The man who plays Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe saw the Post story and decided to try it out.

It wasn’t such a hot idea, he admitted on Instagram this weekend, and he hopes others don’t make the same mistake:
“Tried this perineum sunning that I’ve been hearing about and my suggestion is DO NOT do it as long as I did.
“My pucker hole is crazy burned and I was going to spend the day shopping with my family and instead I’m icing and using aloe and burn creams because of the severity of the pain.
“I don’t know who the fuck thought of this stupid shit but fuck you nonetheless. Seriously.”
New York-based dermatologist Jeremy Fenton isn’t surprised Brolin feels a little burned by the experience.

“This area is vulnerable for two reasons,” Fenton told Yahoo. “Number one, it is an area that has not received much sun exposure in most people, thus it would be lacking in the body’s normal response to sun exposure that protects it from future sunburn, such as producing pigment. Number two, it is sensitive skin to begin with, so any burn in that area may be more significant and more uncomfortable.”

Fenton warns people who insist on baring their buns to the sun that they could increase their chance of getting a sunburn.

“There is some evidence to suggest that the genitals may be more susceptible to skin cancer than other areas of the body,” Fenton said. “A skin cancer developing in this area may be more difficult to detect because people don’t regularly view this area on themselves.”

I get that losing a family member is hard, but goddamn he sounds like he'd been a drunk for some time. I know people can't be helped unless they want to be, but ffs. Also UK, does it feel good? The drunkard could have walked away with a stab wound but got run over instead.

So not only they're cucks, they're OBESE now?!

My sides are on another galaxy :story: :story: :story:

Technically it's an advice column but whatever

I saw my girlfriend getting oral sex from her dog. What now?

I saw my girlfriend of six months being orally pleasured by her neutered male dog. She doesn’t know I saw her. I don’t know what to make of this. We both come from fairly conservative backgrounds and have limited sexual experience. I can’t imagine discussing this with her. But I can’t get the image out of my head. I really like this woman, and one side of me wants to say it’s no big deal, just another way to masturbate. But this is bestiality, right? Isn’t it technically illegal, or at least immoral? I keep wondering what she’s thinking while we have sex, and my appetite for oral is nil now. This is sad because we had been communicating well about sex (a first for me). I can’t talk about it with friends like I usually world. So I ask you, how weird is this? What would you do?

—Puppy Love

Dear Puppy Love,

What you describe, doggone it, is bestiality. Any sexual activity with an animal that is invited or facilitated by a human is bestiality. (Rover taking it upon himself to hump your leg doesn’t quite qualify.) It is illegal in most states, though somewhat counterintuitively, possession of pornography that features bestiality is legal in nearly every state. Look but don’t touch, says the law. The prevailing understanding is that because animals, which are sentient beings, cannot consent to sex, having it with them is unethical. As far as I can tell, studies have not been performed on the traumatic effects of bestiality on animals (so, sex researchers who may be reading, there’s a topic for you to pursue), but it’s generally a good rule of thumb to assume the worst and not have sex with animals.

What you describe, doggone it, is bestiality.

I understand your desire to write this off, and I think “Bestiality: Just Another Way to Masturbate” would be a catchy, if untrue, slogan for an animal lovers’ lobby. While I suppose it is conceivable that one could enjoy the feeling of a dog’s tongue without being attracted to the dog it is attached to, per se, it’s not like your girlfriend was on a desert island with no vibrator and a Labrador. Getting eaten out by a dog is a choice. (I’d also be at least a little insulted that she opted for a dog’s tongue instead of mine if I were you.) In fact, if she weresexually attracted to the dog, the troubling thing would be less her urge than the execution of it. It’s one thing to have fantasies, and it’s quite another thing to enact them. Zoophilia is not an uncommon fetish, though I wouldn’t say it’s widely practiced. (You can decide whether that fits your definition of “weird.”)

Her behavior is well within the reasonable boundaries of deal-breakers. Is this someone you want as a sex partner? A life partner? Wanna share your girlfriend with a dog? That seems, uh, rough. You’re only six months into things. Be happy that you discovered this now, while it’s still early.

The Left Hates The Salvation Army and the Boy Scouts.

The Left Hates the Salvation Army. That’s All You Need to Know About the Left
DENNIS PRAGER 12/03//2019
One of the great puzzles in contemporary American life is whether there is anything the Left could do to make Americans understand how destructive it is.

We all know some individuals who are so obviously good and kind that we are certain if anyone were to dislike them, that’s all we would need to know about the person. We would immediately assume he or she is a bad person. To hate the manifestly good is a sure sign of being bad.

Such is the case regarding the Left’s hatred of the Salvation Army. You don’t have to be a Christian—I am not—to appreciate the goodness of the people who run and work for the Salvation Army. They devote their lives to helping the poorest, the saddest, the loneliest and the most troubled among us—completely irrespective of race, gender, transgender identity, faith or no faith. And they do it for almost no money. They do it because of their Christian faith.

They provide these downtrodden people with not only food and shelter but also human warmth and love. And they offer the people they care for the one thing most likely to get them out of their predicament: meaning. They offer it; they do not coerce it. And while the vehicle for this meaning—Christian faith—may not be your faith or mine, so what? It takes a truly narrow-minded bigot to want to deprive people of meaning just because that meaning is rooted in faith or in a faith other than their own.

Yet, leftists—most especially LGBTQ groups, which spread a remarkable amount of hate in the name of “love”—seek to crush the Salvation Army. They threaten and pressure whoever supports the Salvation Army.

“British pop singer Ellie Goulding,” the Wall Street Journal recently reported, “threatened to cancel an appearance at the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving halftime show, which will celebrate the army’s red-kettle campaign, unless it made a ‘pledge or donation to the LGBTQ community.’ She backed down after the Salvation Army assured her it serves needy members of that community.”

Most depressing of all, Chick-fil-A, a business owned by a Christian and heretofore run according to Christian principles, caved in to LGBTQ organizations’ pressure and stopped funding the Salvation Army, while it has also donated to a left-wing group that hates the good, the Southern Poverty Law Center.

I never thought I’d see the day when the Salvation Army would be hated by a substantial number of Americans or lose the support of a Christian-run business.

But given the Left’s loathing of virtually all things good—such as America, Israel, traditional Christianity and Judaism, the Boy Scouts, the nuclear-family ideal, Thanksgiving and America’s Founders—it is not surprising.

As I have said for years, the Left destroys everything it touches: music, art, Christianity, Judaism, economies, universities, high schools, late-night comedy, pro football, women’s likelihood of finding happiness, men’s likelihood of maturing, the Boy Scouts and the innocence of children (think “Drag Queen Story Hour” for 5-year-olds at public libraries), to cite some of the more obvious examples.

And while it destroys good institutions, the Left never builds a viable replacement. Is there a left-wing equivalent to the Boy Scouts, a left-wing institution that helps mold boys into responsible men? Of course not. The Left destroys, but it builds nothing—except state power. Or, to take the present example, is there a left-wing equivalent to the Salvation Army? No, there isn’t.

“We believe we are the largest provider of poverty relief to the LGBTQ+ population,” the Salvation Army said in a statement after Chick-fil-A announced its decision. As the Wall Street Journal concluded, “Considering it serves nearly 25 million people every year, that’s likely true.”

But all the good the Salvation Army does means nothing to the Left. The Left judges people or institutions not by their behavior but by their beliefs. And the Salvation Army believes—as has every civilization in recorded history, and as former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did until a few years ago—that marriage should be defined as the union of a man and a woman. To the Left, that belief outweighs helping 25 million people, including married gays.

One of the great puzzles in contemporary American life is whether there is anything the Left could do to make Americans understand how destructive it is. If suppressing free speech at colleges and on the internet, fomenting interracial anger, supporting those who wish to annihilate Israel, allowing (and even encouraging) teenage girls to have their healthy breasts surgically removed if they think they are a boy and trying to crush the Salvation Army don’t do it, probably nothing will.

Everybody knows libtards hate all charity anyway, at least ones that aren't majority-funded by Soros or indirectly by tax dollars.
