It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

I always assumed that reason why was usually a mixture of massive, deep seeded insecurities and a general inability to do anything useful.

Probably. #notallactors but so many people who go into acting are pretentious assholes, typically of the "rules for thee but not for me" variety.

Also, anyone who's wealthy is free to donate literally all of their money to charity or even directly to the Treasury. I'm so sick of this virtue-signaling garbage from people like Ruffalo. Go work with Habitat for Humanity or something. Twitter is pure moralistic slacktivism.

What is it with actors, and thinking people actually give a shit what they think?

Actors exist to rein in the attention of plebeians. If they're any good at it, they get bribed by groups or figures to give the plebeians a specific, distinct message.

Most of them are also pedophiles and thus easily blackmailed or otherwise manipulated.

No, the real reason the economy is shit is due to the 'Me Generation'
While you're not quite wrong, the 1% elite he's talking about isn't making capitalism any better.

It doesn't help to talk about capitalism when you're worth $30 million. Capitalism is the most successful economic propensity, don't expect it to go away anytime soon.

Capitalism isn't the problem; the people that take advantage of it is the problem.

I've always said that if I got my lifelong dream of becoming an actor, I'd live a humble life and attempt to give back to the community that got me as far as I did on that journey.

Clearly, the obvious play is instead to use my millions and millions to buy a mansion in the hills, flex my wealth casually, and then tell the little fleshlings beneath me that it is them who must come up with a solution to the problem, not I, who am a noticeable part of said problem.

Chicago woman accused of punching 2-month-old daughter held without bail
Nina Singleton, 31, was charged with aggravated battery of a child for a pattern of assaults that prosecutors said likely began shortly after the girl was born in September. (Cook County sheriffs office / Handout)

Bail was denied Friday for a Chicago woman accused of punching her 2-month-old daughter in the face and slamming her onto a hard tile floor, leaving the child on life support.

Nina Singleton, 31, of the 1000 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, was charged with aggravated battery of a child for a pattern of assaults that prosecutors said likely began shortly after the girl was born in September.

The little girl is hospitalized with skull fractures, bleeding on her brain, and a broken shoulder and leg, according to Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Christina Dracopoulos. She is not expected to survive.

If the girl dies, prosecutors anticipate filing murder charges against Singleton, Dracopoulos said.

Singleton was being treated for psychiatric issues Friday at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and did not appear in court, where Cook County Judge Mary Marubio ordered she be held without bond.

According to Dracopoulos, the baby’s father discovered the abuse on Tuesday when he met Singleton, who is his ex-girlfriend, at a Starbucks where he typically had visits with his daughter.

When Singleton showed up without the baby and refused to let him see her, he “freaked out” and ran to Singleton’s nearby apartment, where he found the little girl unresponsive in a bassinet, Dracopoulos said.

The baby was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital at Northwestern Medical Center, where it was determined she had recently suffered a severe skull fracture, Dracopoulos said.

Doctors also found 10 facial fractures, retinal bleeding and broken bones in her shoulder and leg, Dracopoulos said. Though many of the injuries were fresh, doctors believed the baby “may have been abused since birth,” Dracopoulos said.

Singleton admitted to police that she swung the girl over her head by the legs and slammed her onto the tile kitchen floor “face first,” Dracopoulos said. Though Singleton claimed the incident occurred on Nov. 20, doctors believe it actually happened just hours before the baby was discovered by her father.

Singleton also admitted she’d punched the girl in the face on several occasions, beginning when the victim was just a week or two old, Dracopoulos said.

She told police she abused the child because the girl reminded her of the ex-boyfriend, according to Dracopoulos.

“Every time (Singleton) looked at the victim, (she) imagined the ex-boyfriend being there, and that’s why the defendant punched the victim,” Dracopoulos said.

Singleton has no prior criminal record, according to prosecutors.
The little girl is hospitalized with skull fractures, bleeding on her brain, and a broken shoulder and leg [...] because the girl reminded her of the ex-boyfriend.

Aside from being just as insufferable as Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo is a gigantic rétard. He's a 9/11 truther, seeks to stop MSNBC from hiring white male conservatives, and has no understanding of the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Anything he says should be treated as shit coming from a man with an ass for a head. I'll take him seriously if he would donate more of his money to where he isn't a fucking millionaire.

First of all I want to preface this by saying I'm very excited by the Democratic brand altogether
Beep boop, don't think: support brand.
The rest of the United States is just finally caught up to what this cat's been doing already for his entire career.
Supporting the nuclear annihilation of the United States by Cuba, supporting genocidal Communist regimes, getting kicked out of communes for being too lazy to work, renaming post offices and leeching off the taxpayer?

Fun fact: the worst ecological disasters were commited by communist countries. Chernobyl, Aral Sea, Four Pests, Yellow River, and of course the inumerable famines that seem to follow communism like ducklings.

But never mind that. Capitalism in America is the biggest threat to the planet. Not an unaccountable imperial cult.
