It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Same-sex acts were already unlawful in Uganda, but on Tuesday night, lawmakers voted to ban identifying as LGBTQ, or the so-called promotion of gay identity. In a packed chamber, lawmakers overwhelmingly voted in favor of the new anti-homosexuality bill, with only two of the nearly 400 representatives voting against it.

Illinois pet pig turning heads with skateboarding skills


A family's pet pig is turning heads in his owners' Illinois town after picking up an unusual hobby: skateboarding.


Norbert, a 150-pound black-and-white pig belonging to Vincent and Alicen Baran, has become a familiar sight to Buffalo Grove residents after learning to ride a skateboard.


"People just really enjoy seeing a pig do things that normally pigs don't do," Vincent Baran told WLS-TV. "I took one of my old skateboards and put it out and literally within seven days he was able to get his hooves on the board and push with his other hooves."

The couple said Norbert is an expert at several tricks commonly associated with dogs, including shaking hands and spinning, but the skateboarding gets him the most attention.

"He's not always graceful but it's definitely a unique thing to see," Alicen Baran said. "It's just the craziest thing to see him kind of roll on by."

Norbert has also become famous on social media after his owners started casting him in recreations of famous music videos from pop punk bands including Blink 182 and New Found Glory.

Zebra escapes zoo, wanders Seoul streets for 3 hours


A zoo in South Korea's capital confirmed a zebra escaped from the facility Thursday and spent about 3 hours wandering the streets of the city.

The Seoul Children's Grand Park zoo said the zebra escaped just before 3 p.m. local time Thursday and wandered to a nearby residential neighborhood.


Surprised locals posted photos and videos of the wandering equine to social media.

Zoo officials and firefighters pursued the zebra for about 3 hours before they were able to corner the animal and administer a tranquilizer.

The zebra was safely returned to the zoo just after 6 p.m., officials said.

A zoo representative said an investigation has been opened into the escape.

No injuries or property damage were reported from the zebra's time on the loose.

A piglet on the loose for multiple days in a New Hampshire town was captured by a local animal lover -- and the rescue was caught on video.

Tori Gamache said she heard the 8-week-old pet pig, Simon, had been on the loose since Sunday, so she went out Wednesday to the area of Goffstown where the swine was last sighted.


Gamache said she spent about 2 hours working to gain the piglet's trust before the animal came close enough that she could grab hold of him.

She said Simon was safely reunited with his family.

Kellie Jay Keane is on the NZ leg of her Let Women Speak tour…..and the irony of what has happened in New Zealand is palpable.
The politicians won’t support her. They call her a Nazi. Police won’t respond for her. She isn’t a feminist. She is a woman’s rights advocate. She doesn’t want men in women’s spaces. All she says is ‘women don’t have penises’ and men don’t belong in women’s spaces.

Today the authorities left her and threw her, unprotected to a baying mob of TRAs. She and her security guests had soup thrown over them. They were assaulted also by screeching noise-makers. And the mob hit a 70 year old woman who wanted to speak in the eye….she got a black eye from a TRA.

If it’s allowed here, I will update on her next speech on camera. She’s just been gotten out alive after nearly being crushed by the mob and is safely in the car. TRAs spitting on the car.

Again . The Farms needs to get spiritually behind this woman…the TRAs are out of control. New Zealand is lost when the Politicians won’t get on her side and the police won’t save her from a baying mob.

Bear who twice escaped at Missouri zoo moving to new home in Texas

An escape artist bear who twice escaped from his enclosure at a Missouri zoo in a single month is being moved to a new home, officials announced.

The St. Louis Zoo said the 4-year-old Andean bear, named Ben, is being transferred to the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas.


The move comes after Ben escaped from his enclosure by breaking through the steel mesh twice in February. The zoo said it reinforced the enclosure after the first escape, but Ben still managed to get out a second time.

Officials said the Texas zoo will be a better fit for Ben, as the bear enclosure is surrounded by a moat instead of a steel mesh.

"While we love Ben, and wish he could stay with us, our goal is to do what is best for him," Regina Mossotti, vice president of animal care at the St. Louis Zoo, said in a news release. "I am so grateful for the excellent care provided to Ben by our Animal Care team here and everyone's willingness to seek opportunities for Ben to thrive."

As of yet Kellie Jay Keen has been silent on YT so I took a look at some mainstream reporting to gauge the tone. I found one with a little support, but as I expected, the news outlets are captured and support the TRAs whole heartedly.

I think this is still technically a doctor honoris causa (God, I hope), just that it was granted by the faculty of theology. I don't know how Finnish education works, but that's my guess.

I still fail to see why reward her for any reason whatsoever. My impression of her has always been that she just wrote of those essays that put kids in local headlines, got notoriety for giving her speech very angrily and dramatically and now everybody treats her like if she's a scientist fighting CO2 emissions or whatever.
