It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Eric Adams suggests illegal immigrants work as NYC lifeguards because 'they're excellent swimmers'​

"How do we have a large body of people in our city and country that are excellent swimmers and at the same time we need lifeguards?"
On Tuesday, Eric Adams suggested the many vacant lifeguard positions across New York City could be filled by illegal immigrants.

The mayor claimed that those who entered the United States unlawfully would be perfect for the job because they're "excellent swimmers."

"If we had a migrant and asylum seeker plan that states those jobs that we are in high demand we could expedite," Adams said during a press briefing. "How do we have a large body of people in our city and country that are excellent swimmers and at the same time we need lifeguards?"
He suggested that "the only obstacle is that we won't give them the right to work to become a lifeguard," adding, "that just doesn't make sense."
This isn't the first time Adams has floated the idea of having illegal immigrants become lifeguards.

"What's important here … is allowing people to work," he said in March on GMGT Live's The Reset Talk Show, "and the irony of it is that we have so many jobs that are open, everything from lifeguards to food service workers to nurses to all these other groups."
"There's so many places that we need workers and we have this willing and able body of people that because of federal laws are unable to work," he added.
With New York City's 50 miles of beaches and over 50 pools set to open for the summer this Memorial Day weekend, officials are doing everything they can to ensure that there is a lifeguard in every chair.

As the Daily Mail reports, in 2023 the Parks Department saw applications fall, and have since increased wages to try and entice people to fill the positions.

According to CalMatters:
Forty-nine years after the Fall of Saigon, April 30 remains a solemn day for Nguyen and Ta as it is for many of 2.3 million Vietnamese-Americans in the U.S. They call it Black April.

“It’s a day that we mourn,” Nguyen said.
Which is why Ta and Nguyen were outraged when leaders of neighboring Los Angeles County declared April 30 “Jane Fonda Day” to honor the celebrity for her environmental activism. The lawmakers immediately began pressuring officials to rescind the recognition.

So much for ethnic sensitivity, which so many Democrats claim to champion? This went over like a baseball bat to the face to Vietnamese-Americans who still remember Jane Fonda as that Hollywood political pilgrim who effectively spit in their faces and kicked them when they were down.
Jane Fonda, recall, was once a young starlet who famously hopped up onto the barrel of a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun during a 1972 political pilgrimage to Hanoi and proclaimed her opposition to the Vietnam War which included South Vietnam's desperate effort to resist incoming communists. She also demanded that American servicemen be executed for their role in helping our South Vietnamese allies resist them, grossly offending Vietnam War veterans and their families, Vietnamese-Americans, and everyone else who wasn't all in on the antiwar hype inspired by America's enemies.

The American veterans made their opposition known and managed to exact an apology from her several years later, but not everyone was convinced. The Vietnamese-Americans, who lost their country to communists through the efforts of Hanoi Jane and the anti-war left and who were lucky to survive long enough on rickety boats through pirate-infested shark-infested seas with huge waves and storms to make it to the states, though, have not forgotten. They, too, were offended, and now they are making their voices known. CalMatters continues:

World's oldest sloth turns 54 at German zoo



The world's oldest sloth celebrated his unofficial 54th birthday at a zoo in Germany -- and has just fathered his 22nd child.

Jan, a Linne's two-toed sloth residing at the Krefeld Zoo in Germany, was estimated to be about 6 months old when he was found in the wild in South America on May 1, 1986, making him at least 54 years old.



The zoo, where Jan has lived since 1986, celebrates the sloth's unofficial birthday each year on April 30.

Jan holds the Guinness World Records for the oldest living sloth in captivity and the oldest sloth in captivity ever.

Linne's two-toed sloths typically live for about 20 years, so Jan has more than doubled his life expectancy.

Zoo officials said Jan remains in great health and just fathered his 22nd child.

Apperently "ELF"s are the reason for the decline of western civilization. (Educated Liberal Women). Clearly THESE women are the main reason things are going wrong, not the dozens of other things going wrong and impacting people at the moment, it totally isn't an oversimplification / blame game and the articles are not tailored for a specific type of target audience.
These 2 articles are likely to piss people off for various reasons, but the idea of "elves" and impacting on censorship sounds so ridiculous to someone who has zero context of the situation really reflects that probably should go here.

The author writes in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Weekly Standard, AmericanThinker, WND, The American Spectator, the Washington Times, and other publications, so its not some nobody that is writing this.

I think this is the right place to put it, since it has all the hallmarks of a click bait article.
