It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

I get that things might be a little rushed in the bathroom. The problem is that I have entered the bathroom immediately after him multiple times to find a toilet seat covered in urine and a toilet full of frothy pee. We’ve made eye contact and greeted each other as he exits and I enter. As someone who sits on a toilet to use it, this is unacceptable.

Chicago Queer Black Safe Space SHUT DOWN...

Yea the usual suspects... In the usual city... Chimping up with their pew pews. And it will not get any traction by the main stream liberal media except the usual "Guns are Bad" crowd.

So it goes here.
It got picked up by the local news at least:

Philadelphia city workers are on strike. No trash pick up. It hasn't even been a week and it's already bad. Medical examiners had to be ordered back to work because bodies were piling up and not being processed.

And worst of all LL Cool J refuses to play the 4th of July concert in solidarity with striking workers. Oh noes! Philly strike updates: LL Cool J says he won't perform at Philly's July 4th concert due to walkout
Archive

LL Cool J says he won't be performing at Philadelphia's 4th of July celebration concert as long as the strike is ongoing with District Council 33, the city's largest blue-collar workers' union.

"I never ever want to disappoint my fans, and especially in Philadelphia. Ya'll mean too much to me, but there's absolutely no way that I could perform, cross a picking line and pick up money when I know that people are out there fighting for a living wage," he said in an Instagram post Thursday night.

LL Cool J was slated to headline the Wawa Welcome America concert, along with Jazmine Sullivan.

"I'm going to be in town, y'all, but I'm just letting you know, I'm not going to cross a picket line and perform for money when people are hurting," the hip-hop legend added.

District Council 33 President Greg Boulware applauded the decision.

"His support underscores the significance of the labor movement and its ongoing fight for justice and equity. We are grateful for his exemplary stance and the impact it has on raising awareness and fostering respect for working people everywhere," said Boulware in a statement.

Mayor Cherelle Parker said she spoke personally with LL Cool J about dropping out of the concert. "I respect his decision, and understand his desire to see the city unified. He is always welcome in Philadelphia," she said in a statement.

I have no idea who Jazmine Sullivan is. But she's won a few Grammys. I haven't watched the Grammys in ages so I wouldn't know anyway. So if you were going to the concert to see LL Cool J you are out of luck. Meanwhile the rat population should be exploding any minute now.

EAST PALESTINE — It’s a celebration 150 years in the making. East Palestine — originally platted just east of the Pennsylvania state line as Mechanicsburg in 1828, later renamed East Palestine in 1833 and incorporated in 1875 — will celebrate its sesquicentennial this Saturday with full day (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) of festivities – including a morning parade, family fun, local art, historical exhibits, and an Oldies Music Show to close out the night.

“The Village of East Palestine is proud to celebrate its 150th anniversary with a full day of community-wide festivities on Saturday,” the village said. “This milestone event honors the people, progress, and history that have shaped East Palestine since its founding in 1875.”

Planning for the celebration began months ago with the representatives from the Village of East Palestine, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, East Palestine Community Foundation, School District/Alumni Association, Historical Society, Fireman’s Association, Police Association, Community Improvement Corporation, Park Board, Eagles 1506, Town & Country Garden Club, East Palestine Memorial Public Library and the Masonic Lodge 417 putting their collective heads together to come up with an event worthy enough to mark the monumental milestone.

The idea behind the celebration was simple – to honor the blue-collar grit that built the village and 150 years later remains the foundation on which the town still stands.

“For a century and a half, East Palestine has been a place where ideas take shape and craftsmanship flourishes,” the village said. “From manufacturing and production to goods that have reached every corner of the globe, our village has consistently exceeded expectations. This rich tradition of making and exporting is a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of our people.”

The village’s rich clay pits supported a booming potter industry. The village was also known for its tire production and orcharding. Other industries included steel tank production, foundry work, and various factories producing electrical wiring devices, wooden ventilators, fireproofing material and lumber.

The celebration is also to honor the people – both past and present – who have called and continue to call the village nestled in green hills home. It’s also meant to honor the village’s future.

“Our strong work ethic, coupled with a commitment to innovation, positions us to build momentum for the years ahead,” the village added. “By embracing new opportunities in areas like sustainable energy, infrastructure improvement and small business growth, we are laying the foundation for a future as vibrant and industrious as our past.”

According to the village, the day will begin with a community parade at 10 a.m. featuring local marching bands, classic cars, community organizations, and a special appearance from East Palestine alumni. Families can enjoy a variety of attractions throughout the day including an art walk showcasing student work in downtown storefronts, a special “150 Years & 150 Facts” exhibit at the East Palestine Memorial Library, and historical displays and redevelopment concepts at the Historic Train Depot. The Historical Society’s Log Cabin Museum will be open with memorabilia on display and commemorative items for sale. Children and families will find plenty to enjoy, with bounce houses, horse-drawn carriage rides, old-fashioned games, a dunk tank with local personalities, and more. A variety of food trucks and local eateries will be available throughout the day, offering everything from tacos and burgers to soda mixing and sweet treats. The day will conclude with a free Oldies Music Show at the high school auditorium from 6-8 p.m.

While the celebration is set to kickoff at 9 a.m. on Saturday, the festivities get underway unofficially on Friday with a “Sizzle and Sing” at the former PNC lot located on North Market across from the municipal building.

Billed as a community karaoke night, the “Sizzle and Sing” will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Attendees are asked to “bring your chair, your blanket, and your best singing voice or just come to cheer on the brave souls who do.” All ages are welcome and the event is free to attend.

Rescued baby owl being nursed back to health

Rescued baby owl being nursed back to health

A baby owl who was found under a tree is being nursed back to health.

The Little Owl was spotted by a member of the public and is now being cared for by Secret World in Somerset.

The Sedgemoor-based charity - which has been running since 1995 - said the animal was alert, which was a good sign.

After round-the-clock feeds, the charity said the bird was getting ready to fledge.

Little Owls were first introduced into the UK in the 1800s, but the Woodland Trust said populations had dropped 18% since 1995.

The trust said the reason for this decline was unclear, but it was believed to be linked to intensive farming methods.

Secret World said it usually rescued a couple of Little Owls each year, and was currently looking after two of the birds.

Speaking of the latest arrival, Emma Ormiston from the charity said he would be put into a series of aviaries.

"They're kept in a large aviary to start with, the land owner keeps an eye on them, gives them some food.

"When they're 100% ready, we let them go," she added.

Queen Ursula survives -- barely

By Thomas Kolbe

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has survived a motion of no confidence in the European Parliament. Yet given the gravity of the accusations in the Pfizer scandal, business as usual is no longer an option. Von der Leyen is increasingly becoming a liability for Brussels.

The Brussels quake never came. On Thursday, von der Leyen narrowly escaped political embarrassment. 175 out of 720 Members of the European Parliament voted in favor of the motion of no confidence, while 360 rejected it and 18 abstained -- falling far short of the required two-thirds majority.

The initiative was launched by Romanian MEP Gheorghe Piperea of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), joined by members of Germany’s AfD and Sahra Wagenknecht’s BSW. Piperea described the motion as “a necessary step to return to the foundations of democracy,” criticizing the “trend toward centralized power” and “the gradual takeover of competences that belong to the Member States and the European Parliament.”

With his initiative, Piperea became the voice of those who envision a European Union that sets basic frameworks and respects national sovereignty, rather than evolving into a supranational monolith that acts autonomously and without checks and balances.

Alaska’s ‘Nazi Creek’ is no more as federal board approves Unangan name
A small creek on Alaska’s Little Kiska Island has been renamed, more than 80 years after it was named after Germany’s Nazi Party by World War II soldiers fighting in the Aleutians.

Nazi Creek was the last landmark in the United States to bear the Nazi name. Its new name is “Kaxchim Chiĝanaa,” meaning either “gizzard creek” or “creek or river belonging to gizzard island” in Unangam Tunuu, the language of the Indigenous Unangax̂ people.

On Thursday, the Domestic Names Committee of the U.S. Board on Geographic Names voted 17-0 to approve the new name, without discussion.

The board’s decision allows the federal government to officially change the creek’s name in federal databases that are the official repository of geographic names. That repository is used by federal agencies and commercial companies that provide maps to the general public.

The board also approved the renaming of nearby “Nip Hill,” named by soldiers using a derogatory term for Japanese people. That hill was renamed “Kaxchim Qayaa,” or “gizzard hill,” again using the traditional name for Little Kiska Island, which is not far from Kiska Island, site of a World War II battle.

Michael Livingston, an employee of the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, has been working for almost two years to have the names changed. Moses Dirks, an expert on Unangam Tunuu, recommended the new names.

“I think that’s pretty awesome. I think elders … and others are happy about it. It really should have never been there in the first place,” Livingston said of Thursday’s vote.

“Like one of my teachers … used to say, if you know something that can make our community better, our villages better, be brave and stand up and say something about it, do something about it,” Livingston said.

The new names were previously recommended by the Alaska Historical Commission, which considered them in April. The changes were endorsed by local Native tribes and Native corporations, the Museum of the Aleutians, the manager of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, Congregation Beth Sholom of Anchorage, and the Alaska Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League, among others.

Kiska Island is located 242 miles west of Adak, at the far end of the Aleutian Islands. The area has been mostly uninhabited since World War II, when invading Japanese forces took 42 people on Attu Island prisoner. More than half died in Japanese internment camps.

The United States forcibly relocated almost 900 Unangax̂ residents of the Aleutian Islands, housing them in unsuitable internment camps in Southeast Alaska and elsewhere. Many became sick and died from the conditions imposed by the government.

Aleutian Islands residents subsequently received reparations from the federal government under legislation that also paid reparations to Japanese Americans also interned during the war.

Livingston’s work isn’t yet complete. He’s also seeking to rename Quisling Cove, a small body of water named after the Norwegian Nazi collaborator Vidkun Quisling. That name change remains pending.

Boston named most collision-prone city in US — and two other Mass. cities aren’t far behind, report says

Boston tops the list of the most collision-prone cities in the US, according to auto insurance data from Allstate, which found that two other Massachusetts cities — Worcester and Springfield — also rank in the top five.

“People in Massachusetts didn’t get termed ‘Massholes’ for no reason,” said Terry Regan, a lecturer on transportation policy at Boston University. “They tend to follow closely; they tend to run through yellow lights.”

Nuisance Kick Streamer “BabyHaze” gets Knocked out in Tokyo 🇯🇵 by another Kick Streamer named “Karumo” before pissing his pants.

After being knocked out and pissing his pants the dude also got his phone stolen by some old man who tried figuring out how to use it until he got home and ended the stream.

It should be noted that after this clip, Baby Haze had his phone picked up and stolen by an older Japanese man. The man took his phone around Shibuya, Japan and tried to figure out how it works. The chat was in disbelief. After a long time of the older man fiddling with the phone, he took it inside his house and ended the stream. So not only was he knocked out and pissed his pants, but he also had his only cellphone stolen.
Edit: Another thing I think was kinda funny/shocking

Concrete contractor unknowingly broke the sewer line while digging for a retaining wall. The concrete pumper came and literally pumped the entire sewer line full of concrete until it overflowed out of the toilet.

Edit: this is NOT my toilet and I’m not the contractor, but I build homes and this was too funny/sucky to not share

It's too good to be true but it would be fun to see karma coming for Liz Cheney and Dr. Fraudci, I mean Fauci thanks to Autopen.

Republicans are salivating over disclosures in former President Joe Biden’s latest interview with the New York Times where he rebuts the charge that he lacked knowledge about the pardons of Liz Cheney, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and family members before staff used his autopen to enshrine their freedom.

The interview signaled Biden’s intent to step up a defense of his final weeks in office, which were marred by the unprecedented pardoning of his son Hunter Biden on tax and gun charges. Biden told the Times that he approved every pardon, but in the same breath admitted he “did not individually approve” each name presented to him.

Instead, he “signed off on the standards” he wanted to use for determining if a pardon should be granted, the outlet reported.

Thieves used ‘signal jammers’ in $1-million Glendale jewelry heist, D.A. says; 7 charged

“Signal jammers” were used in recent L.A. County jewelry store break-ins, according to police. (Glendale Police Department)

L.A. prosecutors charged seven people this week in an elaborate jewelry heist involving “signal jammers” that netted more than $1 million in stolen goods, officials said.

The group, which Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman described as a “South American crime ring,” is accused of stealing more than $1 million in goods from Bidrussian Jewelry in Glendale on May 26 after cutting a hole in the roof, according to a news release issued by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Last week, the same group was in the process of carrying out a similar break-in at Rodeo Jewelers in La Verne when they were interrupted by officers from five different police agencies, led by the Glendale Police Department, authorities said.

In the La Verne incident, prosecutors said the defendants used “signal jammers” and cut utility lines that disabled internet and emergency services in the area.

“To those involved in organized crime targeting businesses in Los Angeles County: No matter how carefully planned your crimes may be, you will be identified, apprehended, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Hochman said in a statement. “Not only do these reckless crimes threaten livelihoods and instill fear in communities, but attempts to avoid detection by disabling emergency services put millions of lives at risk. This will not be tolerated under my watch.”

Jose Millafil, 30; Luka Pazitiani, 27; Javier Sepulveda, 24; Matias Vera, 34; Victor Iturriagalopez, 20; Edson Gonzalez, 33; and Cristian Gonzalezaburto, 30, were each charged with two counts of grand theft, two counts of commercial burglary and vandalism, and cutting a utility line. Each defendant pleaded not guilty during an appearance at the Burbank courthouse Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the district attorney’s office could not immediately provide information about attorneys representing each defendant.

Horror as 19-Year-Old Worker Dies After Being Sucked Into Meat Grinder at Tina's Burrito Plant

The teen's colleagues where shocked after seeing what happened.

A 19-year-old sanitation worker has died in a horrific workplace accident at a Tina's Burrito factory in California after being pulled into an industrial meat grinder during a late-night cleaning shift. The incident, which took place on 13 July in Vernon, has sparked widespread outrage and raised serious questions about workplace safety protocols.

19-year-Old Sucked Into Meat Grinder at Tina's Burrito Plant

The Vernon Police Department said that the horrifying accident happened on Sunday 13 July 2025, as per the Daily Mail. Authorities stated that the unnamed worker was doing a night shift. He was cleaning the industrial meat grinder.

However, the deadly machine suddenly turned on, pulling him. Other members of the after-hours sanitation crew saw what happened. His colleagues said that the 19-year-old cried for help, but they were not able to help the employee since the equipment couldn't be shut down.

No Foul Play in Tina's Burrito Incident

The police didn't suspect any foul play in the incident. As of press time, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is still investigating the horrific death to identify what triggered the meat grinder.

'Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and coworkers affected by this tragedy,' said Sgt. Daniel Onopa of the Vernon Police Department.

As of writing, Tina's Burritos—famous for its single-serve frozen burritos—hasn't released an official statement regarding the fatal accident at its California plant.

Importance of Industrial Safety Procedures

The latest meat grinder incident in California shows how important it is to have proper industrial safety procedures. In 2019, a similar accident happened in Pennsylvania. A 35-year-old worker also died after falling into a meat grinder.

The police took around 45 minutes to dismantle the machine and extract the female employee's mangled body from the meat grinder. Aside from this, a physical therapist was burned to death this July in Arizona. The incident happened when a hyperbaric chamber burst into flames.

In October 2025, a tree worker lost his legs in a woodchipper during his first day on the job. Luckily, he survived the horrifying incident. In another case, Caterpillar Inc. was fined by the Department of Labour after one of its employees died in 2022 after falling into a vat of molten iron.

If the investigation discovers that the Tina's Burrito meat grinder accident happened due to a flaw in the machine or a lack of safety measures, there's a high chance that the burrito brand could face a hefty fine. A lawsuit could also be filed if the teenager's family decided to pursue it.
