It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

When I saw this essay I had to double check to make sure I was in the A&H subforum because I thought it was a shitpost. The left is really that big of a joke at this point.

Anyway, didn't read.

Why should I read it if I'm not going to like it, anyway? These prog authors are all trying to be such melodramatic, arrogant tards with these obnoxious "open letter to America" articles, and they are so ironically "anti-journalism" in their writing styles (i.e Journalism Writing 101 Step 1: Start off the article with a statement that pulls in the reader rather than repels them, and Step 2: Don't waste their fucking time!) that it only makes everyone less inclined to bother with their shit.

If Google is building algorithms that literally recommend fascism, there can only really be one reason. Because there are fascists, aka white nationalists..

It could be that Google recommends content that is similar to what you have previously watched. I watch a lot of videos on youtube of The Simpsons, and when I go onto Youtube I see a lot of recommended videos of clips from The Simpsons. I never see any Family Guy, and I dont think the reason is because people at Google hate Family Guy so they are pushing The Simpsons. That would be an absurd conclusion to come to. They are building algorithms that recommend things you might like according to the data they have on you.

Here is the kind of country we are now. Our largest and richest companies literally are now the world’s foremost platforms for fascism, violence, and hate.

They are the foremost platforms for a lot of things, both good and shitty. It's like trying to say air is bad because a white supremacist uses it. When you have the whole world using these platforms there is going to be a lot of kooky shit on there. For example, there are large communities of the anti-vaccine movement on Facebook and Youtube. Without these platforms, individuals with one common belief would have more difficulty coming together to share their ideas. So does that mean these are the foremost platforms for anti-vaxxers? Probably. However, they are also some of the foremost platforms for humanitarian causes too and other causes that have done a lot of good too.

Fascism was invented in America, my friends, not in Nazi Germany.
Neither, it was invented by Mussolini in 1915.

You tard.
White supremacy, white nationalism, these are things all invented in America. We are the world’s innovators and pioneers of them. The globe’s original white supremacist nation. The only rich nation, really, to have enslaved people en masse within its own borders.
No, the United Kingdom had us beat long before America was even a place on a map. And ancient Rome had African slaves before that.

What kind of society do we want to be? One that exports our own collapse, our own ruin, our self-destruction? One that peddles hatred and violence to the world, so that there a few more billionaires, and the stock market is happy, and the economy “booms”? The choice, I suppose, is ours.

Interesting that while I'm sure the author didn't intend it, this paragraph could very easily be applied to the American Left.

This is how far I made it

Here’s a thought. The shooting in Christchurch was literally dedicated to a YouTube celebrity infamous for fascist sympathies. Think about that. A mass murder was literally dedicated to…a YouTube star. But YouTube is Google. Google is one of America’s most powerful, famous, and rich companies. The massacre in Christchurch was literally helped along by Google — and in a way, if we are smart enough to read the subtext, thanked by it by the shooter. What the? Isn’t there something just jaw-droppingly grotesque about that?
You didn't think hard enough. The reason he namedropped a YouTube star that was already deemed "controversial" by shitstains like you is precisely because you would react like this. The reason hate is prevalent now is because they're sick of all the hate you're giving people who do not agree with your unicorn valley world.

So even when the guy straight up says what radicalized him (certain sex crimes committed by Muslims in Europe), the left ignores it and blames everything from Trump to PewDiePie to America to social media sites not banning every single person to the right of an Everyday Feminism as soon as they create an account.

They really need to marry fundies already.

Think about the Christchurch massacre for a moment. It wasn’t just the work of a crazed, lone gunman, as we so often minimize such things in America. It was the result of a man who was radicalized to the point of committing unthinkable violence, mass murder, violence on a scale that would have made the Nazis proud.
So... a work of a crazed, lone gunman, then?
The Christchurch shooter — terrorist? Nazi? Fascist? — shouted the name of a certain YouTube celebrity who’s become notorious for making anti-Semitic, fascist “jokes”. Are they jokes? Or are they hate speech?
Oh for crying out loud, these aren't "jokes" they are JOKES, without those stupid sarcastic quotation marks of yours. He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, or just PewDiePie for non-stupid people, had some indian-looking people (here's some diversity for you) hold up a piece of paper reading "death to all jews" in a video, and that was enough to kickstart the whole fucking "PewDiePie is a racist nazi" thing. It was such an obvious joke. Now they will never let it go, everything he does will be twisted to make him look like the most evil person ever.

Imagine a tragedy happening, leaving dozens of people dead and injured, traumatized forever by the event. Your biggest gripe with the tragedy is that the shooter shouted a meme. An absolute brainlet, someone so dumb he cannot convey his thoughts further than "niggers are bad" and "they took our jerbs", repeating funny maymays from the_Donald or 4chan, whose plan was to rile the media up by saying the exact things they wanted to hear. He unironically put the entirety of Navy Seals copypasta into his manifesto and didn't drink bleach afterwards. He kept doing the "OK sign" because some /pol/acks decided it was a funny thing to try and turn into a white supremacy thing to "trigger the libs, own the libs". He did everything to seem "based and redpilled" to people who follow the "baby's first nationalism" ideology. And the worst part is that it's working, because the journos are even dumber than he is. The only 2 things he left out to give journos an oppression bingo are "Gamergate" and "Kekistan".

That's a very mighty reach you're trying to do here. 2Pac was a rapper. But 2Pac is black, therefore all black people are rappers who get gunned down by rival gangs.
Also, the shooting wasn't helped by Google in any way, shape or form, let alone LICHELLY helped by it. If anything, Facebook was helping him by providing him a platform to stream the shooting, yet I don't see Facebook being blamed for it.
YouTube has long been known to be perfectly happy with all kinds of grotesque and horrific things on its platform. Just last month it was videos encouraging children to commit suicide.
YouTube will demonetize your videos because you said "kill" or "rape" either in the video or the title, along many other things. I'm fairly certain they're not encouraging self-harm in any way. In fact, I'm certain they tightened the grip on these kinds of things years ago.
Because capitalism doesn’t care, my friends.
There it is! The "capitalism bad" that we all love oh so much.
Of course Google won’t down profit, even if the cost is…helping along genuine real world massacres.
I'm just dumbfounded by this sentence. They're reaching very hard to blame someone else, because having a single instigator isn't enough, there HAS to be a conspiracy aimed to doing the most heinous things (almost 3 years of "investigate Russia probe" is prove enough).
If Google is building algorithms that literally recommend fascism...
Google is one of the most leftist big tech companies out there. You will be kicked out of it because your opinion didn't correspond with the hivemind enough. Yes, the most liberal tech company in the world will recommend you fascism if you type "family-friendly content" into the search bar, that makes so much sense.
Is it any surprise that YouTube coders, who are probably most a certain kind of American dude, are then writing algorithms which basically take that kind of a culture, a culture of soft supremacy, one where black kids are shot by cops all the time for no good reason, and repackage it…into math?
random.txt material.
Fascism was invented in America, my friends, not in Nazi Germany.
The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I before it spread to other European countries. You have made not just one, but TWO mistakes in one sentence. What an absolutely galaxy-brained intellectual.

I'm sure there are even more things you can find that are beyond retarded, but I'm not well-informed enough to do that. This entire article is just reaching to find some sort of conspiracy, so they can say "see, there are nazis EVERYWHERE!", get a tighter grip on the internet and have people policing it for content they don't agree with, or jokes that aren't politically correct enough, so they can remove it.
