It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

M&S begins legal action against Aldi over Colin the Caterpillar cake

Marks & Spencer has begun legal action against Aldi, arguing the supermarket's Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake infringes its Colin the Caterpillar trademark.
M&S claims that their similarity leads consumers to believe they are of the same standard and "rides on the coat-tails" of M&S's reputation.
It lodged an intellectual property claim with the High Court this week.
M&S wants Aldi to remove the product from sale and agree not to sell anything similar in the future.
The retailer has three trademarks relating to Colin, which it believes means Colin has acquired and retains an enhanced distinctive character and reputation.
The product was launched around 30 years ago. Colin's appearance has been substantially unchanged since around 2004, except for adaptations for events such as Halloween and Christmas, and related products such as Connie the Caterpillar.
A spokesman said: "Because we know the M&S brand is special to our customers and they expect only the very best from us, love and care goes into every M&S product on our shelves.
"So we want to protect Colin, Connie and our reputation for freshness, quality, innovation and value."
Colin is central to M&S's partnership with cancer charity Macmillan, and the retailer has created a Colin product for the annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising event.
The cake is a sponge with milk chocolate and buttercream, topped with chocolate sweets and a smiling white chocolate face.
M&S was the first retailer to sell a caterpillar cake, but many supermarkets have since created their own similar products.
Other cakes include Waitrose's Cecil, Sainsbury's Wiggles, Tesco's Curly, and Asda's Clyde the Caterpillar.

This should be in the British news thread as it's peak Britain really.

Sounds like if they ever did have a trademark on the very concept of a cake shaped like a caterpillar, they allowed it to become a generic thing and how can it specifically identify M&S if there were already at least four similar competing products?

Did anyone see the "Zulu Prince" who got shot after beating some cops unconscious when they arrived on scene to a panicked woman? Supposedly, him stalking a whyte gurl and sneaking in her house was totally just a cultural misunderstanding because he took his shoes off!

See? Definitely not predatory rape from an african prince accustomed to living a life of no consequences. It was the police's fault for not educating themselves on Zulu cultural mores.

Police on lookout for Big Bird costume stolen from Adelaide Sesame Street Circus Spectacular

A 213cm-tall Big Bird costume reportedly worth $160,000 and made of ostrich feathers has been stolen from a circus in Adelaide.

Key points:

  • A Big Bird costume was stolen from an Adelaide circus
  • Yellow feathers were found on nearby Port Road
  • The costume came from New York and there is no spare for the show
Police are investigating the theft from the Sesame Street Circus Spectacular at Bonython Park sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

Circus director Keith Brown said a trail of feathers on a nearby road could help catch the culprit.

"He's left a couple of feathers down Port Road for us, so maybe some of those cameras on Port Road will help us," Mr Brown told ABC Radio Adelaide's Afternoons show.

"He's lost a couple of feathers as he's gone down the road."

Mr Brown said boltcutters had likely been used to access the costume from where it was stored on site.

"We all live on-site, it's a travelling touring show. It's the first time Sesame Street has joined the circus — we have to remember this is an international circus show," he said.

"They come specially from New York. We have a lot of cameras around the area so we hope something will come up on the footage."

The costume is the only one of its kind in the show, but organisers said it was only being used to meet guest during the interval.

A $4,000 furry lion costume was stolen from a Woodville South home, leaving its owner "absolutely devastated" in 2019.

Two arrests were also made over the theft of the ABC's Bananas in Pyjamas costumes from the ABC building at Collinswood in 2011.

Two killed in fiery Tesla crash without anyone in the driver’s seat

HOUSTON (AP) — Two people were killed in Texas in the fiery crash of a Tesla and authorities say there was no one in the driver’s seat at the time of the crash, although it’s not clear whether the car’s driver-assist system was being used.

A Harris County constable told television stations in Houston that there was a person in the front passenger seat and another in a rear passenger seat after the wreck Saturday night in the Houston suburb of Spring.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said authorities are certain that no one was driving the car at the time of the crash.

“They feel very confident just with the positioning of the bodies after the impact that there was no one driving that vehicle,” Herman told KHOU-TV.

Deputies said the car was traveling fast and failed to navigate a turn before running off the road, hitting a tree, and bursting into flames. The identity of the victims had not been released by Sunday afternoon. KHOU reported that one was 69 and the other was 59.

Tesla did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

Federal traffic-safety officials are investigating several Tesla crashes in which the vehicle’s Autopilot function may have been used, including crashes in which cars drove under tractor-trailers.

The company warns customers that its driver-assist system, called Autopilot, is not an autonomous-driving program and that they must pay attention and be ready to take control of the vehicle. However, the National Transportation Safety Board said last year that the design of the system allows drivers to avoid paying attention and fails to limit where Autopilot can be used.

KPRC-TV reported that a brother-in-law of one of the victims said it took four hours to extinguish the blaze. Authorities said the vehicle’s batteries repeatedly reignited, and Herman said that deputies called Tesla to ask how to put out the fire. Raul Castro confirmed Friday he is stepping down as the head of the Communist Party of Cuba, the most powerful position on the island.
During a speech on the first day of the Communist Party's eighth congress, he said he would hand over power to a younger generation that is "full of passion and anti-imperialist spirit."

"I believe fervently in the strength and exemplary nature and comprehension of my compatriots, and as long as I live, I will be ready with my foot in the stirrups to defend the fatherland, the revolution and socialism," Castro told party delegates at the closed-door meeting at a convention center in Havana.
He was retiring, Castro said, with the sense of having “fulfilled his mission and confident in the future of the fatherland.”

Schizo take: beat two people to death. Put them in a Tesla and RC them into a tree.

Not my take, not yet.

Israel to buy millions of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Israel signed a deal to buy millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer Inc through 2022, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday.

The new vaccinations will be suitable to protect people against different variants of the coronavirus, Netanyahu said in a statement.

He said he hopes to sign a similar deal to purchase the Moderna Inc vaccine.

"This means that very soon we will have more than enough vaccines, both for adults and children," he said.

Late on Monday, Israel's Walla news website reported that Israel signed a deal with Moderna as well, although officials were not immediately reachable to confirm the report.

With about 81% of citizens or residents over 16 - the age group eligible for the Pfizer/BioNTech <22UAy.DE> vaccine in Israel - having received both doses, infections and hospitalisations are down sharply.

  • France's top court has ruled that he will not go on trial because he was in a drug-induced psychosis.
  • Cannabis was found in Traoré's blood after he was taken into custody for the killing.

France's top court ruled on Wednesday that the killer of an elderly Jewish woman will not go on trial, France24 reported.
Kobili Traoré admitted to murdering his neighbor, Sarah Halimi, in 2017. He shouted "Allahu Akbar," or "God is great" in Arabic, and "I killed the devil," shortly before throwing her off the balcony of her third-floor Paris apartment, The New York Times said.
On Wednesday, the Court of Cassation — France's final court of appeal — affirmed two prior judgments that ruled that Traoré could not be held criminally responsible for his actions because he was in a state of drug-induced psychosis.

Traoré, a drug dealer, smoked pot every day for 13 years and had up to 15 joints a day, Israel Hayom reported. Toxicological analysis revealed the presence of cannabis in his blood on the day he was arrested, the French newspaper Libération said.

The court noted that "a person is not criminally responsible if suffering, at the time of the event, from psychic or neuropsychic disturbance that has eliminated all discernment or control," The Times said.
Traoré will be held in mental health institutions until doctors deem him fit to return to society, according to reports.

In December 2019, President Emmanuel Macron made a rare intervention by criticizing the Paris appeals court for saying that Traore was unfit for trial.
"Even if, in the end, the judge decided that there was no criminal responsibility, there is a need for a trial," Macron said in 2020.
The country's top magistrates then criticized Macron for impacting the "independence of the justice system," The Times of Israel reported.
The ruling has angered French politicians and France's Jewish community, the largest in Europe.

Dozens of French senators have reacted by proposing a revision to the law that exonerates a crime due to a drug-induced psychosis, The New York Times said.

Weird, I thought he stood down years ago and that Cuba was run by some EU looking guy now.
I think he just chose the guy a couple years ago and kept a ceremonial position while new guy more-or-less (but not completely yet) was made new leader
That's just going off of memory from when I heard about it, though

Want to know something funny?

This was apparently an accidental shooting, Officer Dumb-dumb grabbed her gun rather than her Taser.

I know a guy who graduated two classes below me in high school. He was a bit of a cow in that he was into tacticool shit and would talk about how he wanted to be in the military or a cop so he could shoot people. Massive red flag in retrospect, but there’s a lot of edgy teens so it wasn’t something that stood out to me.

What did stand out is that he had an infamous temper and was slightly mentally ill in some way ie it wouldn’t surprise me if he was a narcissist or had a personality disorder. I’m not sure, not a psychiatrist, but he didn’t do well with rejection, he could pretend to be nice for like a short period of time, was a bit of a control freak, a manlet, and was really really funny to poke because he had a massive ego: Specifically, he would get butt hurt on sports teams and vastly overestimated his skill. He was a very annoying underclassman who was very easy to troll because he was convinced he’d be the next Chris Kyle, Tiger Woods, or Randy Moss. Not sure what happened with the marine/navy seal career he envisioned, but at some point in time he dropped it in favor of being a cop.

Later in life, I followed him as a personal cow: He could never hold down a job and he’s been divorced at least twice - if he’s to be believed, it’s never his fault though. He also would constantly announce on social media that he was attempting to be a cop in x, y, or z place*, but ultimately it wouldn’t work out... Until recently. Unfortunately, with all the heat police are getting they’re scrapping the bottom of the barrel. He got in somehow, and I highly doubt he would have if it weren’t for all the anti-police saber rattling. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up on the news one day for shooting someone.

*it was funny as hell because it was very cyclical and it pissed him off when it didn’t work out. I’m a bit horrified his persistence paid off.

Finally, the first platform from a political party that has any hope of reforming our kiked broken system.
4. We support a two percent ceiling on Jewish employment in vital institutions so that they better represent the ethnic and regional population balance of the country.
I'd like to see it applied to banks, hollywood, lawyers, med school, college admissions, deep state positions, and Congress to start.

Stolen Big Bird costume returned to circus in Adelaide with apology note

[ original | archive ]

A stolen Big Bird costume worth $160,000 has been returned after being taken from a circus in Adelaide by self-proclaimed "Big Bird Bandits".

Key points:

  • The Big Bird costume was stolen from a circus in the Adelaide suburbs earlier this week
  • The costume is made from ostrich feathers and is worth $160,000
  • An apology note returned with the costume said "no harm" had come to "Mr Bird"
SA Police (SAPOL) patrols were called to the circus at Port Road, Thebarton, just before 5:00am on Wednesday, after two males were reportedly seen carrying what appeared to be the missing costume of the character from the Sesame Street children's TV show.

SAPOL said the costume was dumped near the south-western end of the circus, by an electricity box, and that the two males — who were both wearing dark clothing — ran away across Port Road.

Patrols converged on the area, securing the stolen costume, which SAPOL said contained a "letter of apology" in the beak.

The note, signed off by the "Big Bird Bandits" contained an apology for taking the costume, and said "we had no idea what we were doing, or what our actions would cause".

"We were just having a rough time and were trying to cheer ourselves up," said the note, which also apologised for being "such a big birden".

"We had a great time with Mr Bird, he's a great guy and no harm came to our friend."

Dog patrols searched the area, but the two men were not located.

The 213cm-tall bright yellow costume is made from ostrich feathers and was flown from New York to take part in the circus.
SAPOL said in a statement that the costume appeared to be intact.

The police investigation into the theft, which occurred between Sunday afternoon, April 18 and Monday morning, April 19, continues.
If found, the suspects could face theft charges.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.

So the good cops with the in-demand skillset are fucking off from urban to regional, and the headcount-starved urban PD’s are accepting anyone with a chest to pin a badge on? I have only one thing to say to niggers in general and BLM in particular:
