• The company: it's fucking Sony

We have a game with divisive themes, directed by an unlikable man, with an unlikable cast financed by a mostly unliked company, what could go wrong?, my best hopes are on this game flopping and the people at Naughty Dog using this as leverage to kick Neil out of the door since they allegedly hate the man

Also, 2,000 years in the future is deeply concerned about the immediate political and social complaints of 2020s Southern California specifically. Truly, inspired and foreword thinking, presenting something we have never seen or thought about before

You know what's sad about the spoilers? It's actually a cool concept that could theoretically work. A sci fi horror story inspired by apocalypse now with gene altered insane humans. I like the ideas, and if you cut out or actually make the religion realistic (communism or halo styled Arabic fanatics) I could see it working with a conventional protagonist.

Unfortunately druckman is making it so it's going to be dogshit, but even cutting that out the advertising for this is terrible. Why the 80s theme? Why lie about the tone so badly? It's a horror game, just embrace that instead of trying to piss off your "fan base" even more by lying and saying it's an 80s throwback action game. The anime in the trailer is so cynical it's unreal.

And let's be honest. You have a character raised on 80s morality. You really think they'll let the insane genocidal human aliens live?

It might actually be playable with mods on PC though. Just make the kill all the aliens ending the default and the main character attractive.

Internet Historian had it dead on when he complained about games with colons in the title.
