Money Internet detective proves Chris bought the PS4 himself

So has he bought the thing outright because looking at Fingerhuts website he could get it for $35 a month, I wonder if that's what he's up to?

When you buy from Fingerhut, you apply for a store credit account with them. The full price of the thing was charged to the account, and Chris has to pay a minimum of $35 a month to pay it off. It works like a credit card, though; in addition to tacking on a premium to the price of the item, they also charge interest. So if he pays just $35 a month, in the end it'll come to something like $800 for the PS4 bundle.

Generally speaking, Fingerhut customers are either slightly more intelligent than Rent-A-Center customers, or they've got shit credit and are using the company's lax credit requirements to try to repair their credit score. It's definitely dumb to purchase expensive shit there, though.

Hey, Marvin, you said that Chris wasn't that bad at handling money and knew to save for his debt, right?
But is he aware of fact that credit payments are always in the deficit?

I mean, since he waited for his tugboat and got it in black anyway, why not directly buy it at any non banned store in his city, unless he thought he was making a deal with this?

Chris doesn't save for his debt. He just always maintains debt. He's not getting deeper into debt at any given moment. He's just stable indefinitely. (Or rather, he's slowly paying off his debt. But he's just paying the minimums, so it's a minor distinction.) Fingerhut is part of that.

He also didn't specifically wait for his tugboat. If he had picked the middle of the month for his deadline, and if he passed his deadline, he'd probably just buy it right there and then, right in the middle of the month.

So I get that he'd tell Barb it was from a fan so that she wouldn't get frustrated with him...but what does he tell her when they are $500 short that month for food/rent/bills ? Or does she not notice?

What the hell is Fingerhut?

It's one of those ordering companies where you'd buy crap that even QVC wouldn't touch, at ridiculous prices.

If I get it the point of using fingerhut is to NOT spend 500$ instantly, but instead get yet another credit of about 50$ per month.

I'm still unsure if Chris still thought he made a good deal rather than buying it in stores, but point is, its yet more money spent for stuff he didn't need.

Why use finger hut at all?

I don't think he even thought about whether or not he got a good deal. He wanted it now, he got it now, he didn't get in trouble with Barb for spending $500, (so far,) and he got to put one over on the trolls. (Or not.)

In his mind, it's probably the perfect plan.

Why would he spend 500$ just for his own white knight? It doesn't make sense.

Then again, neither is anything else in the world of Chris-Chan.
Yeah, Chris is pretty much getting more desperate by the day, Chris is decompensating right before our very eyes, if this "Stunning and Brave" social mask does not pay off soon, who knows what might happen......
All this talk about Finger Hut reminds me of Chris' old social mask describing lots of finger play for Jackie with pretend fellatio.

Many people did, through the magic of taxes and social disability payments!

But yeah, good on the weens that they were able to contain themselves.

Chris' reality without the beauty, the grace, the charm, the willingness from strangers, or the extra X chromosome
