The censoring in the video reminds me a lot of when Wendigoon had to censor a video about the M16 because it featured full auto shooting in it. If I had to take a shot at why it was unlisted, edited, blurred, and then relisted: Youtube probably struck it and IH elected to just edit out the offending content and blur what he could keep, and just be done with it. It's a nearly decade old video that wasn't even 3 minutes in length, it wasn't worth the effort of fighting and risking possible full demonetization over. The Man in Hole video sat in a playlist for months during the copyright shit, unlisted and barely known to exist after it's initial takedown. IH doesn't exactly communicate these things.

This is probably a big factor, but youtube has been iffy on the name "Hitler" for years now, so honestly shocked it took a while for something like that to happen.

How is recounting a real life event plagiarism? It's just modern insanity by people who will disregard IP for people on the wrong political side.
Yeah, there are some movies where a little audience reaction goes a long way, like everyone laughing at a comedy or cheering during a big moment. But then you get people who take it too far and start talking to the screen like the characters can hear them. Or riffing like they're in MST3K but they can't come up with anything funny to say. We have screenings for parents with little kids, why not screening for people to talk through?
I don't think he should be strung up for it, but from what I understand he borrowed exact structure and wording from some random online article about the cave thing. I agree he shouldn't be held to the standard of academia, but that article is still someone else's content, even if it was some journo, using too much of that article means he didn't have to do nearly the amount of work the original researcher did but probably would profit way more from it.
He did though. I still have the original video archived and it's not exactly word for word, but he did follow the story's narrative from what I recall. The videos showing comparisons have a bunch of clips, none of them have a transcript comparison with the actual article
