If the government offered 10k of booze and drug money in exchange for a shot or minor surgery that made you sterile I think it would be perfect got IP2 types. Imagine how many billions of dollars in welfare, hospital bills and future incarceration expenses you could save that way.

Forced euthanasia would be best for Jewel. She‘s absolutely miserable - why should she be forced to suffer like this and why should everyone be forced to endure her. She has zero quality of life. She makes no one happy. I’m not even really kidding that much. What kind of life is this for anyone? If she were at least intelligent and had something to offer the world... But she’s not. Can anyone explain what happened exactly, I know we were speculating she went out for a smoke and had to go back through the ER and was needlessly freaking out. But Jewel mentioned a woman who doesn’t work for the hospital who came to mess with her and a doctor who “abused“ her. Did they toss her out for real? Why would they issue a breast pump to a woman in her state? Surely they don’t intend to use the milk, right?

None of this makes sense and since there is no judge I am no longer sure they won‘t be permitted to take the baby as soon as they get her stable and healthy enough to leave. God damn this is awful.

There are organizations like Project Prevention that pay a few hundred dollars to drug addicts and alcoholics who choose to have procedures like a vasectomy or tubal ligation. Women can also be paid if they receive an implant or an IUD for long term birth control.

These are the type of people that are written about in the DSM 5 and studied by psychiatry residents. Real question: Do any of these people have family members who have ever reached out to them and talked to them on how they are ruining their own life or are they also outcasts from their own families?

It's pretty common to be escorted out of the hospital after having a baby- I've heard of either nurses or volunteers- and one of the reasons they're there beyond pushing the wheelchair for a customary final walk around the hospital before going back home is to make sure the child has an acceptable car seat in the proper row of the vehicle.

Many hospitals do keep a donated stock for low income families or ones with a single mother without a support person who can go purchase one though, since they don't let you leave without a safe ride for the baby. I doubt they ask for extensive income documentation and they might just want these people gone if there is no CPS/judge involvement (yet) after all.

Breast pumps are covered under all health plans including Medicaid, you can just pull up a third party website and order one without having to pay a cent, and it's not uncommon for insurance plans to pay for these without a script being required. They also basically give away manual breast pumps on location as well, even if you own an electric one. I also doubt the whole judge story, but I wouldn't read too much into the pumping thing because more and more hospitals market themselves as baby friendly nowadays, and most of the requirements of the certification relate to the facilitation of breastfeeding- this is generally a good thing though not in the case of addict mothers, and I wouldn't be surprised if the nurses just go through the list thoughtlessly in order to maintain their certification.

If the milk's not given to the baby or pumped it can cause hard masses to form and it's very painful to express it out. Mothers who don't plan to breastfeed are given medication that will dry up the milk. Pumps are covered by insurance, as another poster said. Even if CPS is taking the baby she still has to get the milk out until it dries up over time due to not giving regular feedings to her baby.
