If you came in the room crying, I'm pretty sure he'd ask you what's wrong. Although once you said what the problem was, he'd say "oh, dats sad, well one time I blah blah blah" and then tell a story about how he experienced something much less severe. Or he'd compare it to something he saw on TV. I think these sorts of things are his halfassed attempts to sympathize, but it just comes off to normal people that he's trying to one-up you or something. Chris has problems understanding anything that might be going on inside someone else's head.
