I don't think the prostitute is what led Barb to become overprotective of Chris. She's been that way since before the October 2011 incident.

I'm pretty sure Barb doesn't know about the hooker, right?

Didn't Chris mention that Barb helped him put together the gift basket? I may be going crazy though.

My personal take on this is Barb is trying to keep Chris from breaking any more laws. He's shockingly open with her about his masturbation and love dolls, so I have no doubt in my mind that he told his Blorb about the prostitute. That probably set off some "oh shit" alarms because it could have easily been an under cover police officer. And I'm sure she is just keeping OPL around because she is lonely and lazy and enjoys having someone to go get her food.

But I think it's mainly to keep Chris from getting arrested...again.
Again, she got arrested with Chris. Really, Barb isn't worried about Chris getting arrested if he's away from her for a few hours.

And I'm pretty sure Chris didn't tell her about the prostitute.

Nah. He later sold the unused "gift basket" on Ebay and it was a premade shrinkwrapped thing.

Yeah I remember that too, lol. Maybe it was a fake status I saw.

I think Bobs death really messed Barb up even more that she already was,And she sees Chris as the only human connection she has left, so she shuts him in, threatens him if he ventures out of the house for too long, and more recently keeps him in the same room as her. she fears being alone and will do anything to keep chris close to her so she dosent have to be alone. on top of all this she is extremly protective of chris, she dosent want anything bad to happen to her 31 year old "baby" boy after all.And Chris, still being at the emotional and quite possibly mental level of a child he feels he has to obey mommy no matter what. It really is sad if you think about it, Barb cant let go of chris because if she does she can no longer control and protect him and chris cannot let go of Barb because thats his mother and, in all reality the only companionship chris has now.

To be fair, she's right, but it's a situation she spent 70+ years making herself, she shouldn't punish Chris for her pushing everyone else away by being such a horrible person.

It's exactly the same thing Chris would go on to do, if he had a child or someone else he could latch on to. But he won't have that.
