The guy has been documented for about 15 years. News of his arrest traveled across the entire world hitting many major publications, video game and comic book sites. He trended on Twitter for an entire day under several different hashtags and people who made content about ChrisChan suddenly got thousands of followers. Videos were made all across the internet exposing the audio and introducing an entirely new generation to ChrisChan. Their entire life has been documented coherently on a website and sources and images have been backed up proving virtually everything. They are not only one of the most strange and fascinating people to ever exist, but they are also technically an artist and one of the most famous transexuals and autistic people in the world. Now, Chris is known as a man who fucked his own mother, a crime that is so bizarre and rare that it wasn't even an option for the drop-down menu for the police when they uploaded his mugshot. This case is also important from a legal standpoint because of the particular circumstances surrounding the case, such as the notoriety of Chris in general and the fact that both Chris and his mother are both impaired. The rulings on this case will mostlikely be seen as setting precedents for future cases involving mentally handicapped people and also the legality of placing convicted sex offenders who identify as women with other women. There is a lot here that is at least worth documenting historically, at least as a footnote, if just for the legal precedents that this will no doubt serve. On a psychology level, the life of ChrisChan shows what happens when a mentally ill person is rejected treatment and the community fails to intervene. None of the events that happened would have happened if the police and others had done their job and intervened when they should have, which would have been when there was clear evidence of Barb's impairment, financial misuse and odd sexual behavior directed at his mother. Chris is a horror story but also an important case that will be worth studying for decades by those who work in crime-prevention or mental health.
