Is Cis a slur?

"Cis" is just a term dick-snipping freaks and fatherless homosexuals use to further cope with the fact that they're never going to fit into society. To answer your question, I think that at this point alot of them do think of it as an insult when they use it, but I don't think the average person is bothered. I mean you're effectively just being called "normal", and compared to those abominations - how bad could that be?

It's just retarded to call people who are sane enough not to mutilate their genitals by a special term. I never use cis unironically and refuse to use it seriously. Let them have their little word if it makes them feel better about their desiccated bodies.

Go ahead and leave your little gender critical internet community (here twitter and bumsnet, I mean mumsnet). Ask a random person on the street if they find "cisgendered" offensive. I guarantee they'll be like "no, why on earth would that be offensive"?

Only TERFs find it offensive because they can't accept transpeople exist. It's basically manufactured offensiveness. Only "offensive" because you want it to be.

Nobody will find it offensive, assuming they even know what the fuck the man in the dress in front of them is even talking about. There's a really good chance they'll find it to be annoying though. Welcome to the real world.

I first heard 'cis' when all the pronouns and the gay acronyms were being established so it will always feel like it was a term chosen by gay people to me.

I also feel that they enjoy it immensely when they witness a person choosing to use it to describe themselves.

'cis' sounds too much like sissy for my liking and I naturally reject it.

Beautiful Border, I was addressing everyone not you specifically.

Dysnomia, I wouldn't call it a "special term", cis and cisgender are just a prefix/word like any other prefix and word in the dictionary. No more special than neurotypical for "non-disabled" or atheist for "non-religious" or heterosexual for "non-homo/bi-sexual". We have words for stuff.

Illuminati Order Official, Yes I agree. You would probably have to explain what cis and cisgender mean to a random person who touches grass(most people have better things to do than take part in the TERF/transpeople debate). But after that I am confident they will find no reason at all to be offended by it.

Nah, they'll probably just say "cis means non-trans? oh ok that's cool"

And Spanish people get confused when they hear people say "pedo" (it means fart in Spanish).

No, it's just misused and given a new meaning through gendies.

I think claiming to be attacked by it hilarious, we should just keep calling troons troons and move on.

Third sock account and you still don't know how to tag properly... You simply type "@" and then username. The forum will even help you:

As for the offensiveness of "cis", let me reiterate. I wouldn't be offended by being called "cis". I'm rather difficult to offend, especially by someone of whom opinions I don't care about.
But if you use it unironically I will think less of you because it's a term mostly used by people who follow an ideology that I disagree with.

oh noes. Someone who wants gay and transpeople to commit suicide might "think less of me" if I use an old Latin prefix to differentiate between trans and not-trans.

Well the differing views here are basically that I think it's insensitive to think of or refer to LGBT people as "abnormal/sick in the head". I think saying cis or trans is kinder and civil.

You know what the word "kind" means, right?

You replied to me directly, so I think I can be forgiven for assuming otherwise.

See, generally speaking I agree with you that it's rude to categorize people as "abnormal", but then I remember we're currently talking about men who get off by wearing women's clothing and are taking advantage of the current social climate to impose their fetish on the general public, and then I'm suddenly less concerned about treating these people with respect.

talking about men who get off by wearing women's clothing

"Men's clothing". "Women's clothing". Come on it's all just clothing, pieces of fabric we wrap around ourselves. In a lot of cultures, Scotland for one, some of the men's attire could be considered dresses or skirts.

and are taking advantage of the current social climate to impose their fetish on the general public,

This is just speculation.

7th actually. You need to stalk harder.
Stalking? When someone enters a room and starts making a fool of themselves it's difficult not to notice it. Whenever I see someone posting about their scat fetish (or your idea of toilet humor) I know it's you again.

Where did I say I want people to commit suicide? I have absolutely nothing about gay people. For trans people - I think many of them are just victims of malicious actors who promise them that transitioning will solve all their problems and let them belong to a group because they feel lost and lonely. I feel very sorry for them.
Then there is a faction of malicious actors - people like Yaniv, Halliday or Fong-Jones - who use trans identity as a shield to protect themselves from consequences of their malicious actions. Even those people I don't want to kill themselves but I would be happy if they faced those consequences - socially and in the court of justice if applicable.
And it's not me who made a thread titled "I hate trannys".

We've all seen classic Simpsons, we know it's just Halloween candy smeared on Homer's face.

I had to make the mandatory "trans people bad" thread like everyone else when joining so you would let me join of course.

Any proof of all this?

I was talking about the posts about soiling yourself.

If it's mandatory - show me where is my "trans people bad" thread.

Any proof of all this?
Of course, in their respective threads. Stuff like this little article about your compatriot Halliday:
