Lefties have to deal with Critical Race Theory, troons, crazy amounts of censorship on their own platforms, the Overton Window constantly shifting, and a generally rabid contingency of untrustworthy lunatics that'll backstab one another over the pettiest shit. The most successful efforts to censor this very website came from the right and far-right. Shitholes like the UK and Australia have harsh censorship because conservatives work together with labor, and in the US conservatives go to great lengths to censor things (BDS, edgy books, swears, etc).

Things like this really show off that the whole lefty vs. righty thing is inherently flawed, since it's just about authoritarian jackasses who want to ban whatever makes them uncomfortable getting into power, and using whichever side they can to do so, be it under the name of God, or Science.

We used to have that here, and now the lolcow sections are nothing but sperging and a-logging. That kind of thing needs to be quashed with divine fury or else it becomes standard practice. Something about the internet really attracts the kind of person who falls for cults of personality, whether they be positive or negative. Spending all day being unironically mad that DSP is bad with money is basically no better than spending all day wondering what Kim Kardashian is wearing.

I've been here the whole time (I am very sneaky) and that pretty much describes me exactly. Even in the early days of Chris trooning out I just thought it was funny autism man being autistic and didn't care at all. I'd have a good-natured laugh with everyone else and go about my day not having to worry about transgender ideology creeping into everything.

Now I hate troons and don't find them funny at all. But it wasn't really me that changed, was it? Back then there were no misgendering laws, no Tranny Defense Force ruining the lives of people who disagree with them, no genderqueer teachers grooming children. These things are all objectively worse now, and my view of them simply adapted to a new threat in a rational way.
