Null once forced many users to ignore Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Those users then un-ignored Hollywood Hulk Hogan and continued to rage at him. Those are the kinds of people who sperg against using the ignore function.

Some people cannot help themselves or cannot accept that someone doesn't like them. It's almost always a fear of rejection.

I personally have a rule about putting users on ignore, and that is that they have to be egregiously annoying or a spammer. I won't fault anyone for using the option if they find it useful to even out their browsing, but I want to hear what people have to say even if I disagree with it to my core. Since I'm an inveterate A&Nigger, I have always failed to see the point of blocking someone. All it would do is stifle my ability to debate and discuss topics, contentious or otherwise.

Hell, I barely even negrate people.

I think it's kind of a cop out to use the function to block people if you disagree with them, but it's useful for severely irritating people. Just for the record, I have no one on my ignore list.

The ignore feature should be treated as a last resort option. I'll only ever use it if a person is so fucking retarded that it's impossible to handle their presence. However, even saying that is a stretch, since there are some people that I think are very insufferable and retarded that I still don't use the ignore feature for. I just ignore what they have to say by scrolling. Really, the ignore feature is for people who need something to restrain them.

If you do use the ignore feature instantly on someone because they disagreed with you on something, for example, then you should be ashamed because that makes you a massive faggot.

I put people on ignore when they've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they cannot be compelled to post anything even remotely constructive, helpful or entertaining. In other words, users who post nothing but trash go on my ignore list. It's rare. There are folks I despise on here that I haven't put on ignore.

That being said, if you put someone on ignore for disagreeing with you, you're a kike and should incinerate yourself in an oven.
