I'm typing this out right now with a keyboard with little lines all over it, and you're inputting those lines into your brains and getting actual meaning from it. The meaning of this sentence does not mean anything else aside from the meaning it is conveying. For example, we all agree that "gesichte" doesn't mean anything and it's not a real word. But what makes that string of characters any different than any other string of characters? And, moreover, you can sound out individual characters and form complete words. Why does A make the "A sound"?

How do I know if that, as I am typing this out, some other person will read this and get a totally different meaning from it? The only convention that makes us agree that specific words mean specific things is society. If everyone had a different meaning for every word then we'd be screwed. We wouldn't even be able to communicate ideas. We all have to agree that reality is this way in order for our entire world to function.

Writing was invented a long time ago. So long that evolution has probably adjusted our mind so that we instinctively pick up the language of our given family. Arguing online seems dumb when you really think about and realize all the specific mechanisms facilitating our discourse. Reading and writing is just a very basic level, what about the internet, computers, plastic, metal, motion sensors, and much more that goes into it. Why do I sit here and read about the lives of other people when there's an entire world which is beyond my comprehension?

Yh it's pretty based. I like how we have legible objects to describe specific ideas too. i.e. :

This is such a basic tenet of logic:

1. The Law of Identity - A is A
Everything is the same as itself; or a statement cannot not remain the same and change its truth value.

2. The Law of Non-Contradiction - NOT (A and not A)
Nothing can both exist and not exist at the same time and
in the same respect; or no statement is both true and false.

3. The Law of Excluded Middle - Either (A or not A)
Something either exists or does not exist; or every statement
is either true or false.
Aristotle figured this shit out millennia ago.

Definitely weed-tier thoughts, but no less true. Human animals somehow managed to develop long series of vocal grunts and physical symbols, essentially code, and form it over thousands of years into a coherent language that thousands to millions know as well. Human development is indeed an interesting subject, but I would add - imagine you are a HRE peasant in 15th century bohemia, and do not know how to read and write. Your position in society would never, ever change you would be so stunted. I consider myself fortunate to be able to read and write at least, because communication is critical to human advancement.

the apostolic churches of roman catholics and greek orthodox celebrate st Cyril and methodius for bringing the slavs their alphabet.

And it should be celebrated. Think of all the marxists out there who want world revolution when they don't even appreciate the fact that we have an alphabet. The ideas and lofty ideals we strive towards get brought down a level when you look at life and in a very serious fundamental level. @Expurgate Contradictions said that I'm dumb because the concept of human language is mind blowing for me. If they took the time to take some DMT like I did and really think about it I'm sure it would be mindblowing for them too.
