Also to reiterate that part of the reason for that big Tumblr purge is because they were changing their rules on NSFW content on the website. As much as some of these people that i've seen try to act like they're way too posh over NSFW it goes hand and hand with these types of artist and the art styles we see the patterns to.
not gonna pretend like i don't indulge in degen shit every now and again but i've grown really tired of the specific kind of twitter artist. Every other day they're whining about not getting enough likes meanwhile you can check their patreons and stuff and these mfers make like 4 figures off just rendering/smut for the internet. like $1000+ for just drawing porn that is ridiculous and as much as i respect the grind (people can make their money however they want) what i don't like is for them to throw pity parties because twitter which by the way has never been made for artists let alone porn artists doesn't generate them the 10s of thousands of likes they want to see.
I always say X/Twatter is made for people to yell each other with. It's why lukewarm extremely basic political takes from Sarah can get 50k likes since that is how all social media kind of works. The common person can tell you every useless thing on their mind and people go "i agree with useless thing too uwu" but that doesn't mean it doesn't have other values. I've seen artists and NSFW artists pull traffic but you realize it's because A. They're old guards in that type of content or B. They're known for mostly trends/trendsetting.

my bad for power leveling a bit when it comes to art but i think what ended up happening and I bang this drum all the time is people got into a social media mentality of art needing to be made for attention. They see their self worth by the likes and reposts which we see hasn't changed at all over the years (you can say this has been this way ever since people started uploading their porn art to the internet but really didn't take its form until like the 2010s). the types that sink into pity parties are usually the ones you see who shouldn't be making anything that can be easily criticized by a mass amount of people lol and if that is what they desire they should carve out a niche and bunker it down. A lot of people want to be in that top echelon who can get paid like 4 figures drawing comics of Samus getting railed but the reality is that is very few people.
