J.K. Rowling needs to stop messing with Harry Potter - A general STFU J.K. Rowling MegaThread <3

i dont care for harry potter but i love how she created somehting the troons and their allies love only for her to piss them off. it is made even better by the fact that she is so independently wealthy that the cancel culture really cant do anything about her. their only hope is to get her banned off of twitter or blacklisted form media events or shows. and while they could possibly get her banned on social media, i feel that because of just how huge harry potter is that if she really wants to get on some media show or event she probably can.

that's also the origins of Gay Dumbledore iirc, in one of the earlier movies they were going to have a throwaway gag about an exgf of his and she nixed it
Which is ironic, because him having an ex-girlfriend fits better with established book canon. Everywhere in the books any male associates are simply stated to be friends, even in the last 1-2 books where they mention and describe Grindlewald. Even when Dumbledore was shown to be under the sway of Grindlewald, this ended up looking like somebody being in the heavy heady thrall of a cult leader or 'revolutionary' who is very early in the process of attracting followers (when they'll lay it on thick to attract the most loyal followers as a starting base) and not because he's in love with Wizard Hitler. These are the books when the more personal secrets of Dumbledore were being revealed and the whole gay acceptance trend was just starting to take off. If there was ever a time to reveal Dumbledore was gay, book 6 and 7 was it, not years later in a tweet obviously fishing for woke points and likes.

She didn't reveal it in a tweet, it was during an interview just after Book 7 was released. I remember back them, many adult fans were mad at the obvious pandering. Turns out they were right.

Oh, I thought it was in a tweet. That's where most of the dumb shit she had been spewing seemed to come from.

She just needs to admit she wrote Dumbledore as straight and be done with it. It's not like it would put her in the doghouse any worse, and it might win back some fans that are tired of this woke shit.

She did write him to be gay, but she never bothered to say it in the books, which is funny in context because it proves how irrelevant a character's sexuality really is. Dumbledore was in love with Grindewald, but IICR, it wasn't reciprocal and they were never lovers. Also, the plot was gonna be the same if they were just friends rather than a couple. The reason they broke up had to do with Dumbledore's family, not because some gay shit.

BTW, she said it in 2007, like I said, after the publication of the final book.

Like I said, it's bullshit. If my best friend who I really love as a friend, not a lover, tells me she's been a serial killer all this time, it would be devastating news and it's not less tragic just because we aren't banging.

Even though she imagined him as gay, it's like you said, they could have easily have been friends, and she even kept using the word 'friends' even with Dumbledore and Grindlewald. It's just very annoying because I've read older stuff where this kind of intense feeling exists (LOTR and even in the Bible) between two men, but it's a deep undying devotion, not gay love.

Dumbledore still would have been from that era where this love was not touted as some 'proof' of being gay, but how deeply one could come to care for another man. It's why it's confusing to me that such authors today want to conflate that with being gay, when in reality it just seems to be an almost extinct form of friendship between men (at least in the West) where too many are afraid to get close to another man like that in fear of being labeled a faggot.

What was interesting is that many had interpreted Tonks and Lupin as coding for gay, with Tonks showing 'butch' signs like not being very feminine with her hair in literal dangerhair colors, and Lupin's lycanthopy (and people's extreme fear of it) as some sort of analogy for gay. Yet they proved to be to be heterosexual at the end and even married each other and had a baby, even though they both looked like they were felt to be heavy candidates, judging by some people's reaction and anger when they married each other.

Analogy for Aids rather than gay probably. An analogy that if its the case was 20 years late when she thought of it.

It could be an analogy for pedophilia where Lupin is a "virtuous pedophile" (virtped/NOMAP). He was "bit" as a kid (analogy for being molested like many pedos were), parents wouldn't trust him teaching if they knew, he seems attracted to Harry, but he manages his pedophilia through "potions" (analogy for therapy/drugs). When he forgets to take his "potion" that's basically like him relapsing into looking at CP and actually trying to rape Harry. Also, it's stated many werewolves are on Voldemort's side which is like how most pedos don't try and control their impulses.

I am living for this. Draco, Lucius, freaking Voldemort (and Hagrid) showed support to JKR
Not counting Felton, more of the "adult" actors will probably show support because Jo hasn't said anything far-fetched and she's very reasonable. They also have established careers and it's very unlikely they will get cancelled.

LOL @ these imbeciles thinking that Draco Malfoy, the one who wanted to kill people for not being magical, would support muggle degeneracy like transgenderism.

Cassandra Clare's influence on the fandom was the death knell to every single brain cell that stayed involved after the series ended.

Actors who play villains tend to be some of the nicer people around, it's pretty amusing.
Moe Howard and Jack Benny are rumored to be some of the nicest people who ever worked in show business.
Zita Johann, Broadway actress, is famous for saying she had more respect for streetwalkers than any actor in Hollywood, except for Boris Karloff. He was a sweetie.

If you can make it through this, you have a stronger stomach than I do.

How the Harry Potter fandom is moving "forward"

An hour or so of since JK Rowling was such an evil transphobe we renamed our group from the "Harry Potter Alliance" to "Fandom Forward." And that's it. Oh wait. "The author" has "caused great harm." Can't forget that. The main interviewee seemed incapable of even uttering Rowling's name as well as having voice that left me wanting to perform acts of violence in Minecraft. I bailed I dunno maybe halfway through.

Fandom Forward's Manila chapter, Pinoy Harry Potter, at the Manila International Book Fair Fandom Fest in 2017. They donated money from the speaking engagement to provide books for those displaced by the Battle of Marawi.
Through her Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling created a magical world championing acceptance and inclusivity. But the author’s controversial comments about the transgender community have alienated lifelong fans.

This hour, we explore how fans have moved forward. We hear from Fandom Forward, formerly known as the Harry Potter Alliance. One Fandom Forward volunteer from New Haven focused on the series in her master's dissertation.

Plus, have you heard of Wizard Rock? Ashley Hamel of Ashley Trix & the WZRDs joins us.

GUESTS:

Katie Bowers: Managing Director, Fandom Forward
Abigail Page: Volunteer Manager of Leadership & Education, Fandom Forward
Ashley Hamel: Singer-songwriter; Wizard Rocker, Ashley Trix & the WZRDs

Why a picture of Flips on a Connecticut Pubic Radio site about a "worldwide phenomenon," well, I have no idea.

Tried to download it via yt-dlp but couldn't figure out how to get that to work, sorry. Not really, but I did try.
