Imagine being this fucking upset that a British author took issue with the asinine idea that trans women and cis women are the same fucking thing when they clearly are not and should not be treated as such. The funny thing is, he never said he agreed with her. He's been vocal about supporting trans people in the past, but lol- he read an audiobook by a friend of his, so that doesn't matter now and he's betrayed them all, apparently. Doesn't matter. Rowling did something Wrong by their metric and that means that she now falls into the same category of Nazi and White Supremacist in that she deserves no empathy or kindness. She is a socially acceptable target to anyone looking to vent their ugliness. She is Evil and Deserves Nothing.
The social justice types make zero distinction between words and actions. "This person expresses opinions I find emotionally hurtful" is directly equivalent to "This person is literally killing people" in their eyes.
So when someone does do what Rowling did, the only acceptable course of action is to decry her and refuse to associate with her. Maintaining any sort of friendship or even neutral acquaintance with her makes Fry guilty of supporting her, which in turn renders his support of the LGBT community null and void.

Yesterday I rewatched the first Harry Potter film and I've got to say it's really enjoyable. I haven't seen the film in more than a decade and a half, so I don't think it is nostalgia goggles.
The adult actors are great and carry the film, the pacing is good despite being rather long, the sets look fantastic and well designed, and there is a surprising amount of foreshadowing to the final twist.
It also doesn't rely too much on telling the audience plot points and show them instead.

I couldn't even bring myself to care or feel anything for her at all because she'd weather it out, but honestly, who didn't see this coming?
I'd actually support the trans movement if they did a better job of "erasing women" or challenging women's rights further in order for them to see just how fucking malignant these freaks really are up close, and that they should do a better job of gatekeeping; actual gatekeeping, in order to not be so divisive. But, in all likelihood, unless an actual schism happens, I can only expect the worst.

Started rereading some of the books and I must say, pretty much every method of wizard travel outside of flying sounds fucking awful. Sensations of spinning rapidly or being compressed through a rubber hose, having to tuck your arms in while using flue powder to keep from breaking your damned elbows, the potential of splinching yourself while apparating and leaving behind half your fucking organs.

In all honesty, if the LGB movement succeeds, then troons will become irrelevant. There aren't nearly enough of them to matter, and if the rest of the feminist movement have declared that gay men are privileged, then why not trans women? They were born and raised as white men just like all of us.
