Calvin is pretty great.
He’s one of the few fags on YouTube that I can tolerate.
Him being gay never comes up at all and he doesn’t act too fruity.
He also made a video once where he clearly makes the idea that “people who don’t want Bond to be a black guy are racist” out to be just as stupid as it sounds.
He’s very nuanced and his video game reviews from back in the day are pretty great.
calvin will forever have my love for the joke he made about making a better japanese disguise for connery with some cellotape
I don’t hate it, yet. Kinda like it actually.

Time will only tell.
Bond looks fine to me, people bitched about Brosnan and Roger Moore being “pretty boys.”

I’d rather have a young bond for the first game so he’s not old as hell by the final game. A bit Nathan Drake-esque but the Majesty’s Secret Service theme plus the face scar from the books shows that there might actually be some care being put into this.

Minority M and Moneypenny is slightly headshake and eyeroll worthy but wasn’t Brosnan’s Moneypenny and Felix Leiter black?

Bond is extremely white, has blue eyes, Chad chin, strong jawline.
im willing to go along with it purely because they made Q a white guy, so if that's the tradeoff for getting the license is they had to make two characters brownoids at least the best ones were kept unsoiled

Rowan Atkinson had this specific combination of browns in his show The Thin Blue Line. A jeet woman and black guy. This was back in the late 90’s.

M was a woman from Goldeneye until Skyfall. Is it really all that big of a deal if M is a jeet woman as well?

This Greenway character is most likely gonna die in this game so that takes him out of the picture.

Also, Moneypenny was black in the Craig films which started almost 20 years ago.

It’s not like having minority characters and women in these types of things is something crocked up in the last 5 years or so.

Bond was always woke chuds!

Obviously Sean Connery is a classic, and being the age I am and growing up seeing the Brosnan movies, I have a soft spot for Brosnan as well. Especially the first few. As a kid I liked the campy Moore movies, but now I don't really like his portrayal, too smooth, too clean.
It took me a while to actually see the Timothy Dalton movies, but I gotta say he turned out to be my favourite, right on par with Connery. He really should have gotten the role earlier instead of Moore. Only two movies, that's criminal.
Moore is fine but they waited too long. The plots didn’t do him any favors.
Brosnan is the perfect Bond to me.
Say what you want about the movies and plots but Pierce AS Bond is perfection.

In the trailer, Bond still looks to be the womanizing Playboy that he’s supposed to be. I like that this game will potentially have more than one Bond girl.
The look he gave the woman by the pool says enough for me.

Moore also got too old by his last movies, almost as bad as Connery in his last one.

I quite prefer the Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore movies myself. They were always a joy to watch. Connery's first 4 are classics as well. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is pretty good but Lazenby's voice takes me out of it. He's the best fighter Bond though. I never really warmed to Dalton's Bond. He comes off as too try hard in some scenes. Craig is my least favorite Bond though. His demand to have Bond killed off also did him no favors with me.

can't stand those people that hate the franchise but also try to retcon it, when the people who made goldeneye didnt want to be "PC" by their own admission. however, i feel there's almost something to be said about the "omg woke nigger dei in my james bond" people coming out of the woodwork when they happily let the franchise get pozzed with a lady M. so they brought it on themselves, the brosnan era is full of dumb M lines like this

You can tell who is and who isn’t a Bond fan.

This line makes sense because she really does think Bond is a dinosaur of the Cold War era. She grows to respect him tho, realizing she was wrong.

after my flippant comment comparing this new thing to the shitty cartoon, I dug up a bit about the cartoon since haven't really thought much about it in the time between when it was on before Sailor Moon in the mornings and now.
I remembered Jaws' redesign

I totally forgot about Dr No as radioactive green Fu Manchu

she then says in TND "at least i dont think with mine" in response to an american toxic patriarchy saying she has no balls. the brosnan and craig eras were the beginning of the end:
-girlboss niggerpenny and felix darker
-badass chinese female spy and hacker lady who can totally hold her own with a gun
-halle berry shilled as an equal to bond
-making a big deal out of craig having to fuck an older woman
-two gay villains and implying bond is bisexual
-a villain that's bad because he's a pervert
-bitchy female M
-dyke haired samantha bond as moneypenny telling james bond he's doing sexual harassment
-eras all about deconstructing the character as flawed, out of date and needing to change
and i literally discounted post-woke no time to die and still could fill a list of this

What's your guys' favorite Bond watch/gun? Can be novel or movies.
I love all the mechanicals, but the Seiko Sports 100 G757 from Octopussy has a special place in my heart because Kojima got one in college because of the movie, and that's why Venom Snake wears one (modified) in MGSV. Close second is the Rolex Explorer, which never gets directly name dropped, but it was Fleming's watch so it can be assumed.

For gun, I love the Baby Beretta he carries in the first novels. Mostly due to the backstory.
Fleming had written a couple novels at that point, and a fan had sent him a letter. In the letter, he explained he was an armorer, and that the Beretta Bond carried would be more fit for a whore (in far more polite Bri-ish terms) and he should carry something more stout, like a Walther. Fleming enjoyed conversing so much with this fan about the gear Bond should use that he created a character in the universe based on this fan, and named him Q.

Bond watches are cool and all. I would buy an Omega Seamaster if they weren't retardedly expensive. That just fits into the category of things in life where I know there are enough people with too much money who'll drop 5 or 6 figures on a watch but it still makes no sense to me how there's enough people that those companies remain viable with expensive shop fronts.

I assume in recent years, they're probably going more expensive for a more limited market where not using your phone or having an apple watch is much cooler and sophisticated.

I'll just dress up my Galaxy Watch Classic with a Nato strap when I wear a suit and no one at all besides me will think of the Bond connection.
